Central Michigan and Buffalo. The Mid-American Conference women's basketball race in 2018-19. The next month ought to be a lot of fun. The Chippewas got 28 points from Presley Hudson, another double-double from Reyna Frost, a big-time contribution from the bench, and the big stop when they most needed it on Saturday in topping Buffalo, 100-95, at the Bulls' Alumni Arena.

Eastern Michigan 56, Ball State 53 // Box Score
The Eastern Michigan University women's basketball team erased a nine-point, third-quarter deficit and returned to the win column with a nail-biting, 56-53, victory over Ball State University Saturday, Feb. 16, inside the Convocation Center. Behind 51-49 with fewer than three minutes remaining in regulation, a corner three courtesy of freshman Jenna Annecchiarico put EMU (11-12, 4-8 MAC) back in front, 52-51, with 2:57 to go in the fourth quarter. Ball State (7-17, 2-10 MAC) eventually bounced back to capture a 53-52 lead with 1:58 left, but head coach Fred Castro called a 30-second timeout before redshirt senior Danielle Minott buried a corner three of her own to give EMU a 55-53 edge with 1:02 remaining in regulation.

Kent State 77, Bowling Green 73 // Box Score
Freshman Asiah Dingleprovided the winning points on two free throws with 5.5 on the clock, as Kent State was victorious over visiting Bowling Green, 77-73, in Saturday's Play4Kay game. Following a timeout with the scored knotted at 73, Dingle was able to elude a defender to get into the paint and draw a foul call on her attempt at the basket. The freshman point guard calmly sank both shots at the charity stripe.

Miami 67, Akron 61 // Box Score
The Miami University women's basketball team (19-4, 10-2 MAC) beat Akron (14-9, 5-7 MAC) by a 67-61 margin on Saturday. Savannah Kluesner earned her sixth double-double of the season with 13 points and 10 rebounds. Lauren Dickerson and Leah Purvis also scored in double figures with 15 and 10 points, respectively. Kenzie Schmitz scored a career-high six points. Kendall McCoy and Kluesner made the first two baskets of the game for either team to give Miami a 4-0 lead after three minutes of play, a lead it would not relinquish.

Northern Illinois 54, Toledo 52 // Box Score
Mikayla Voigt's (Slinger, Wis./Kettle Moraine Lutheran) three-point play with 6.8 seconds left in regulation proved to be the difference in the Northern Illinois University women's basketball team's 54-52 win over the Toledo Rockets on Saturday at the NIU Convocation Center. "We knew I was just going to go hard to the basket, so I put my head down and tried to make the layup," said Voigt about her game-winning play. "I'm just glad after a tough day I stayed with it and got the job done when it counted. The rivalry between NIU and Toledo is one for the ages, and I'm glad we came out with the win today."

Ohio 70, Western Michigan 56 // Box Score
Behind a strong second and fourth quarter performance, the Ohio Women's Basketball team (21-3, 10-3 MAC) defeated Western Michigan (8-14, 2-9 MAC), 70-56, on Saturday afternoon inside the Convocation Center. Sophomore guard Cece Hooks (Dayton, Ohio), sophomore forward Gabby Burris (Baltimore, Ohio) and senior guard Dominique Doseck(Athens, Ohio) all compiled a team-high 15 points. Hooks went 7-of-13 from the field and was just short of a double-double performance with nine rebounds. She added a team-high four assists and two steals in her 27 minutes on the floor.
