MADEIRA BEACH, Fla. -- The Akron softball team split day two of the Madeira Beach Tournament defeating Holy Cross, 6-0, for its third shutout of the season before falling to Quinnipiac, 11-2, in the nightcap on Saturday night.

MADEIRA BEACH, Fla.- - Powered by a pair of home runs from junior slugger Janae Hogg, as well as another strong day of pitching, the Ball State softball team picked up a pair of Saturday wins at the Madeira Beach Invitational.
Bowling Green

SPARTANBURG, S.C. - For the second-straight day, a sixth-inning uprising lifted Boston University to victory over the Bowling Green State University softball team. On Saturday (Feb. 16), the Terriers scored three times in the sixth en route to a 4-0 win over the Falcons. The game was BG's third and final contest in the weather-shortened Upstate Classic, hosted by USC Upstate at Cyrill Stadium.

ATHENS, GA – The University at Buffalo softball team dropped both games of their doubleheader to conclude the Red & Black Showcase on Saturday. UB fell by a score of 13-9 in the first game of the day against Winthrop before dropping a tough 5-2 contest on walk-off to Nebraska-Omaha in the second game of the day.

TEMPE, Ariz. – The Central Michigan softball team split its two games on Saturday in the Arizona State Littlewood Classic. The Chippewas defeated San Diego, 10-8, in their first game of the day, then dropped an 8-2 decision to the host Sun Devils, who are ranked 14th.

LAS VEGAS – The Miami University softball team (5-4) split the second day of the UNLV Tournament on Saturday. In the first game, the RedHawks beat UC Davis by a 7-6 margin in eight innings. Miami then concluded the day with a 2-7 loss to Seattle.

SAN DIEGO – The Northern Illinois University softball team took a pair of games, including one in walk-off fashion, on the second day of the 29th Annual Campbell/Cartier Classic hosted by San Diego State Friday.

COLUMBIA, S.C. – The Ohio softball team continued play at the 2019 Gamecock Invitational on Saturday (Feb. 16), falling to UNC Greensboro, 4-3 in eight innings. Sophomore Katie Yun led Ohio at the plate with three hits, two doubles and three RBI.

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. - Toledo Softball (4-5) split the final day of the UT Chattanooga Challenge on Saturday, starting with a 5-1 loss to Indiana State but ending with a convincing 7-4 victory over Tennessee Tech to end the tournament with a 3-1 mark. Day two was highlighted in the latter game by sophomore pitcher Erin Hunt (7 IP, 7 SO, 3 BB) earning her third win of the season and senior Megan Choate bringing in three runners on two early-innings hits.
