KENT, Ohio -- Danny Pippen had 18 points and 11 rebounds as Kent State rolled past Detroit Mercy 92-57 on Tuesday night.

Pippen also tied his own school record with seven blocked shots while dishing out five assists. Antonio Williams and Philip Whittington added 17 points apiece for the Golden Flashes, while Troy Simons chipped in 16. Whittington also had nine rebounds for Kent State.

Antoine Davis had 23 points and six assists for the Titans (1-6). Justin Miller added nine rebounds.

Kent State (7-1) will seek its sixth consecutive home win on Saturday when the team hosts Cleveland State. The Titans play Eastern Michigan at home on Saturday.

YPSILANTI, Mich. -- Ty Groce had a career-high 23 points as Eastern Michigan got past Valparaiso 85-79 on Tuesday night.

Noah Morgan added 21 points for the Eagles.

Groce shot 9 for 10 from the line. Morgan also had six rebounds for the Eagles.

Boubacar Toure had 13 points and Thomas Binelli added 12 points for Eastern Michigan (7-1).

Javon Freeman-Liberty had 28 points and five steals for the Crusaders (5-4). Donovan Clay added 11 points. Daniel Sackey had eight assists.

Eastern Michigan faces Detroit on the road on Saturday. Valparaiso plays Central Michigan at home on Sunday.

Vanderbilt 90, Buffalo 76

NASHVILLE, TN – The University at Buffalo men's basketball team had its three-game win streak snapped on Tuesday night as the Bulls lost at Vanderbilt, 90-76, in its first true road game of the year.  The Bulls are now 5-3 on the season.

Senior Antwain Johnson led the Bulls with 16 points, one of three Buffalo players in double figures. Johnson added seven rebounds, one of three Buffalo players to finish with seven boards.  Senior Davonta Jordan had 15 points and seven rebounds and sophomore Josh Mballa finished with 11points and seven boards.

Junior Jayvon Graves had nine points, while senior Gabe Grant added seven points and six boards off the bench.  UB shot just under 40% for the game, but was 5-of-23 from behind the arc. 

The Bulls will continue their road trip on Sunday afternoon when they head to Chicago, IL to face DePaul.  That game will tip off at 5 pm ET on Fox Sports 1.

Oakland 72, Western Michigan 62

KALAMAZOO, Mich. -- Xavier Hill-Mais scored 26 points, surpassing 1,000 career points, and Oakland fended off Western Michigan 72-62 on Tuesday night, sending the Broncos to their first home defeat this season.

Hill-Mais shot 11 for 13 from the field. He added nine rebounds and four assists.

Daniel Oladapo added 11 points for Oakland (5-4), Blake Lampman pitched in 10 for the Golden Grizzlies, who shot 54% from the field (25-for-46) while holding Western Michigan to 33% shooting.

Brandon Johnson had 18 points and 15 rebounds for the Broncos (4-5), who have now lost four consecutive games. Michael Flowers added 12 points. Jared Printy had 10 points, hitting 3-for-6 on 3-pointers.

Oakland had a 36-34 edge on the boards, but 30 of their rebounds were on the defensive end.

Oakland plays Bowling Green on the road on Saturday. Western Michigan takes on Youngstown State at home on Saturday.

Northern Kentucky 76, Miami 54

OXFORD, Ohio -- Dantez Walton had 32 points as Northern Kentucky easily defeated Miami (Ohio) 76-54 on Tuesday night.

Tyler Sharpe had 18 points for Northern Kentucky (6-3). Adrian Nelson had a career-high 12 rebounds and Trevon Faulkner added six boards.

Dalonte Brown had 17 points and seven rebounds for the RedHawks (4-4). Mekhi Lairy added six rebounds and Nike Sibande had seven rebounds.

Northern Kentucky plays Eastern Kentucky at home on Sunday. Miami (Ohio) plays Evansville on the road on Saturday.

Loyola-Chicago 70, Ball State 58

MUNCIE, Ind. -- Cameron Krutwig had 14 points, nine rebounds and four assists as Loyola of Chicago defeated Ball St. 70-58 on Tuesday night.

Tate Hall had 14 points and six rebounds for Loyola of Chicago (5-4). Keith Clemons added 13 points. Lucas Williamson had 10 points for the visiting team.

Ishmael El-Amin scored a career-high 24 points and had six rebounds for the Cardinals (4-4). Tahjai Teague added 14 points and nine rebounds. He also had nine turnovers.

Loyola of Chicago plays Quincy at home on Saturday. Ball St. faces IUPUI at home on Saturday.
