YPSILANTI, Mich. -- Noah Morgan had 19 points as Eastern Michigan edged Northeastern 60-55 on Tuesday night.

Yeikson Montero had 12 points for the Eagles (9-1), including the clinching free throws with six seconds to go. Ty Groce added 10 points.

Jordan Roland's two free throws with 1:02 to play pulled the Huskies within 58-55 with 1:02 to go and after a miss by the Eagles, Tyson Walker grabbed an offensive rebound after a missed 3-pointer by Maxime Boursiquot. Walker missed the putback in the lane and Montero grabbed the rebound.

Roland had 12 points for the Huskies (5-6). Boursiquot added 10 points and 10 rebounds.
 
Kent State 85, North Carolina A&T 71

EL Paso, Texas-  Senior Philip Whittington turned in a game-and career-high 29 points as the Kent State men's basketball team picked up a gritty overtime road win, 85-71 win over North Carolina A&T in the consolation game of the WestStar Bank Sun Bowl Invite Tuesday night.

Whittington finished the night 9-of-12 from the floor, while scoring 21 points in the first half. Whittington also grabbed 12 boards and recorded his third double-double of the season.

The win moves Kent State to 4-0 in overtime games over the last two seasons.

Pippen added 17 points and grabbed six rebounds while Troy Simons rounded out the double-figure scoring with 14 points.

Kent State returns home and will play its last game of the non-conference schedule as the Flashes host Hampton on Saturday, Dec. 21 at the M.A.C. Center. Tip time is scheduled for 7 p.m.
 
Purdue 69, Ohio 51

ATHENS, Ohio – Despite a gutsy comeback in the second half, the Ohio men's basketball team (7-4) was unable to overcome a tough Purdue (7-4) team, falling to the Boilermakers, 69-51, Tuesday night (Dec. 17) inside the Convocation Center. 

Redshirt senior guard Jordan Dartis led the way with 16 points, going 6-of-15 from the field and 3-of-9 from three-point range. Redshirt freshman forward Nate Springs finished with a career-high 12 points, going 4-of-8 from three-point range, while freshman guard Lunden McDay finished with 10 points and six rebounds. Sophomore guard Jason Preston finished with six points, a team-high 10 rebounds and five assists. 

Overall, Ohio shot 37 percent from the field, 28 percent from three-point range and 50 percent from the free throw line, while Purdue shot 49 percent from the field, 39 percent from three-point range and 67 percent from the free throw line. Purdue out rebounded the Bobcats 33-28, while the Boilermakers dished out 14 assists to Ohio's 13. 

Up next, the Bobcats stay in the Convocation Center to take on Morehead State on Saturday, Dec. 21. Tip-off is set for 1 p.m. 
 
Robert Morris 83, Central Michigan 79

MOON TOWNSHIP, Pa. -- Josh Williams hit four free throws in the final four seconds of the game to allow Robert Morris to hold off Central Michigan 83-79 on Tuesday night.

The Chippewas took a brief lead with just under four minutes to play when David DiLeo hit a 3 to make it 71-70, but AJ Bramah missed a layup, grabbed the offensive rebound while drawing a foul. His two free throws put Robert Morris ahead for good.

Williams finished with 24 points and eight rebounds to lead the Colonials (4-8). Dante Treacy and Bramagh each contributed 14 points.

DiLeo had 23 points and grabbed eight boards for Cenetral Michigan (7-5). Devotae Lane added 13 points and six assists, Kevin McKay added 12 points, six rebounds and three steals and Rob Montgomery contributed 11 points.

Central Michigan came in averaging 88.7 points per game, making it the No. 2 scoring team in the nation behind only Eastern Washington, which averages 90. Still, the Chippewas have yet to win a game on the road in five tries.
 
UMKC 72, Toledo 57

KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Javan White recorded 14 points and 11 rebounds to carry UMKC to a 72-57 win over Toledo on Tuesday night.

Brandon McKissic had 18 points and six assists for UMKC (6-7), which earned its fourth straight home victory. Rob Whitfield added 16 points. Marvin Nesbitt Jr. had 10 points for the hosts.

Toledo totaled 20 first-half points, a season low for the team.

Willie Jackson had 14 points and 15 rebounds for the Rockets (8-3), whose five-game win streak was snapped. Luke Knapke added 13 points.

Marreon Jackson, who led the Rockets in scoring coming into the matchup with 18 points per game, had eight.

UMKC plays South Dakota on the road on Sunday. Toledo takes on Wright State at home on Saturday.
