MAC Offensive Player of the Week
Michelle Shampton, Ball State
Forward, Senior, Dayton, Ohio (Oakwood)
Shampton in exciting fashion on senior day, came to the rescue for the Cardinals in overtime. Shampton scored the game-winner and lone goal of the game to push Ball State past Appalachian State, 1-0, Friday afternoon at the Briner Sports Complex. Shampton led all players with six goals and five shots on goal. The senior now has five goals for the season and 13 for her career. Shampton leads the squad offensively in points (15) and goals (5).
MAC Defensive Player of the Week
Wietske Overdijkink, Ball State
Goalkeeper, Freshman, BAAMBRUGGE, NETHERLANDS HV ABCOUDE CLUB
Overdijkink continues to be a defensive threat for the Cardinals. The true freshman registered her third shutout win of the season over Appalachian State Friday with five saves. She currently leads the squad this season in saves with 56. She continues to move up in the national rankings each week. Overdijkink continues to lead the conference in saving percentage (83 percent) and goals against average (1.46). She is also second in the league in saves per game (6.75).

Marie Gorner, Miami
Midfielder, Senior, Seddin, Germany (Wolkenberg-Gymnasium)
Senior center back Marie Görner captained the Miami defense that earned a 5-0 shutout against Central Michigan and the MAC regular season championship last weekend. The RedHawks allowed only five shots and three on target during the contest, earning the squad's third shutout in conference play. Miami's defense only surrendered three penalty corner opportunities to the Chippewas. Görner also jumped into the attack, getting a shot on goal during the game. The Miami defense had the best goals-against average of the conference in MAC play (0.944 GAA) and allowed the fewest shots on goal (27), penalty corners (16) and total shots (36) during conference games this season.
Katie Wyman, Longwood
Goalkeeper, R-Senior, Havertown
Katie Wyman continued her strong season, leading the Lancers to a 2-1 2OT win over previously MAC unbeaten Kent State. Making four saves, including two big stops late in the fourth quarter, Wyman led her team to a big road victory. She ends the regular season as the MAC leader in save percentage, goals against average, and tied for first in shutouts.
Leonor Berlie, Miami
Midfielder, Junior, Geneva, Switzerland (College de Candolle)
Junior midfielder Leonor Berlie closed the regular season with a five-point game on Saturday as Miami captured the MAC regular season championship with a 5-0 shutout of Central Michigan. Berlie scored two goals and added an assist in the win, notching her fourth multi-goal game of the past month. She scored the game-winning goal on a tremendous individual effort, entering the attacking 25 and then circle on her own to put Miami on the board. Berlie scored her second of the game off a cross pass and then had a ball deflected to give her an assist on the RedHawks final goal. Berlie leads the conference in goals (13), points (31), shots (98) and shots on goal (54) this season. She is 18th in the country in goals (13) and 21st in points per game (1.76).
Luna Lopez, Longwood
Defense, Sophomore, San Rafael, Mendoza Agentina
Luna Lopez delivered in a big way, scoring two goals for the Lancers in a 2-0 win for Longwood over previously MAC unbeaten Kent State. The starting center back, Lopez scored two corner goals, including the game winning strike in overtime, as the Lancers ended their regular season with a big win. For the season, Lopez has four goals and two assists.
