Dickerson and Brown Named WBB Players of the Week

EAST DIVISION PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Lauren Dickerson, Miami

 Senior guard Lauren Dickerson set a career-high in single-game points for games ending in regulation when she put up 37 at Eastern Kentucky in the 18-point road win last Wednesday and moved up to third on Miami's all-time scoring list. She averaged 32.5 points per game this week. Against EKU, Dickerson sunk a career-high 14 baskets with eight of those coming from behind the arc. Her 14 baskets accounted for nearly half of Miami's total. Dickerson added eight assists in the win. Against Bradley, Dickerson scored 28 points as she accounted for nearly half the team's baskets once again. She added five three-pointers on Saturday and her 13 three-pointers this week more than doubles her previous season total.

WEST DIVISION PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Oshlynn Brown, Ball State     
Forward, Junior, Chillicothe, Ohio (Chillicothe)                    
 
Oshlynn Brown registered two double-doubles this past week helping the Cardinals beat two Big East opponents Xavier and in-state rival Butler. Brown now has 20 double-doubles for her career. She ended the week averaging 14.5 points per game and 11.5 rebounds. Brown pulled down 18 defensive rebounds, helping Ball State improve to 3-2 on the season. Against Xavier, Brown led all scorers with 19 points and 12 rebounds. On Saturday, she had a 10 point, 11 rebound performance. For the week Brown averaged 14.5 points per game while shooting 65 percent from the field, she also went 7-of-11 (.636) from the charity stripe and led the Cardinals defensively averaging 11.5 rebounds per contest.

Shaunay Edmonds, Akron

As Akron improved to 4-1 and 2-0 on the week, senior guard Shaunay Edmonds highlighted the Zips offensive attack against Youngstown State and Detroit. On the week, Edmonds averaged 16 points, 4.0 assists, 2.50 rebounds, and 1.5 steals per game. In 37 minutes of work, the Zips point guard shot at a 63.2-percent clip from the floor, 3-for-4 (.750) from long range, and .833 at the charity stripe. Against the Penguins, Edmonds scored a game-high 18 points, dished out three assists, and grabbed five rebounds while the senior turned in 13 points, five assists, and two rebounds, and two steals in an all-around performance. In the third quarter alone against Detroit, Edmonds scored six points, recorded four assists, and two steals. "
 
Caterrion Thompson, Bowling Green            
Guard, R-Junior, Lima, Ohio (Lima Senior)                
 
Bowling Green's Caterrion Thompson averaged a team-high 17.0 points as the Falcons split a pair of games last week. She also averaged 8.5 rebounds and 4.5 assists to rank second on the team in both categories. Thompson had 18 points in just 22 minutes in the Falcons’ win over Notre Dame College. She went 7-of-9 from the field in that win, adding five rebounds and four assists. Then, the guard had the first double-double of her BGSU career, with 16 points and a game-high 12 rebounds at Valparaiso. She also had a team-high five assists in the contest. On the year, Thompson is averaging a BG-best 18.5 points, along with 5.8 rebounds and 3.8 assists per game. She is shooting .527 from the floor in the four games to date.
 
Dyaisha Fair, Buffalo  
Guard, Freshman, Rochester, NY (Edison Tech)       
 
Dyaisha Fair stayed consistent in her hot start to her UB career as averaged 26.0 points, 4.5 rebounds and 5.0 assists and 3.0 steals on the week. Fair led the Bulls in scoring in both games. On Thursday, Fair scored a game-high 28 points while adding three rebounds, seven assists and a steal. On Sunday at #3 Stanford, the freshman proved she can play alongside some of the best players in the country as she scored a game-high 24 points while also grabbing six rebounds, dishing out three assists and recording five steals. The Rochester, NY native currently ranks second in the nation in scoring at 26.0 points per game. She also ranks second in field goal attempts (106), is third in three point field goals made (24) and is fifth in final points (132).
 
Molly Davis, Central Michigan          
Guard, Freshman, Midland, Mich.   
 
Central Michigan freshman guard Molly Davis turned in her best performance of her young career on Thursday as the Chippewas defeated Datyon at home, 81-80 in overtime. The Midland, Mich. native posted a season-best 21 points on 9-of-10 shooting and was 3-of-4 from behind the arc. She also grabbed 10 rebounds, which matched a team-high, en route to her second double-double of the season.  
 
Aaliyah Stanley, Eastern Michigan    
Guard, Freshman, Boynton Beach, Fla. (Oxbridge Academy)                      
 
Freshman guard Aaliyah Stanley played well-beyond her years in Eastern Michigan’s two contests against Southeast Missouri State, Nov. 19, and Southern Illinois, Nov. 23. After putting up career-bests in points (24), field goals (9), and three pointers (5) against SEMO, leading the team to a 69-64 win, Stanley was again dominant against Southern Illinois. She tallied 15 points, four rebounds, and two steals against the Salukis. Stanley led all Eagles with a 19.5 points per game average on the week. After five games, Stanley leads EMU in total points (66), points per game (13.2), three pointers (13), and steals (9). She currently ranks ninth in the league in three-point shooting (.371), eighth in three-pointers made per game (2.6), 11th in steals (1.8 per game), 18th in scoring, and 17th in shooting percentage (.379) Additionally, Stanley has led EMU in single game scoring once, has scored in double-digits three times, and has led EMU in three-pointers in three of the team’s five contests. 
 
Lindsey Thall, Kent State       
Forward, Sophomore, Strongsville, Ohio (Strongsville)       
 
Lindsey Thall made a school record 8 three-pointers and had a career-best 32 points in Kent State’s home opener against Ohio State on Thursday. Thall shot 11-for-21 overall from long distance and averaged 21.5 points for the week. She made crucial plays in the closing minutes of the Golden Flashes’ epic come-from-behind victory against Robert Morris on Sunday, including a three-pointer with 6.2 on the clock made it a one-point game.
 
Courtney Woods, NIU            
Forward, RS-Senior, Brisbane, Australia (St. Margaret's)    
 
Courtney Woods averaged 21 points, four rebounds, and 4.5 assists per game in two hard-fought losses at Illinois State and Purdue. Woods scored 20 of her game-high 26 points Wednesday night at Illinois State in the second half, getting the Huskies tied at 58 with under 2:00 to go. She had 15 points in the fourth quarter alone and was 7-for-7 from the foul line in the game. Woods made three three-pointers in the first half Sunday at Purdue to give NIU a 35-30 halftime lead. She finished the game with 16 points and four assists.
 
Erica Johnson, Ohio    
Guard, Redshirt Sophomore, Mansfield, Ohio (Mansfield Senior)  
 
In just 16 minutes on the floor in Ohio's 78-41 win over Incarnate Word, Johnson had a complete game with 15 points, six rebounds and five assists. Johnson was a perfect 7-of-7 from the floor and knocked down one three pointer in the win, helping Ohio win its fourth-straight. 

Nakiah Black, Toledo  
Guard, Junior, Concord, N.C.
 
Junior Nakiah Black averaged a team-high 15.0 points, 5.5 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 1.5 steals in a squad-best 33.5 minutes in two games last week. Black shot 37.9 percent (11-of-29) from the field, including 30.8 percent (4-of-13) from three-point land, and 80.0 percent (4-of-5) from the charity stripe. She was the only Rocket to score in double figures in both non-league matchups. The two-time team captain opened the week with 12 points, a career-high nine boards and two thefts in 33 minutes at Notre Dame on Wednesday. Four days later against Memphis, the 2019-20 All-MAC West Division Team honoree contributed a season-high 18 points and three helpers in a season-best 34 minutes. Black did not commit a single turnover in 67 minutes of action last week. She has now scored at least 10 points on a team-high three occasions this year. 
 
Breanna Mobley, Western Michigan
Forward, Redshirt Senior, Lansing (Lansing-Waverly)         
 
Redshirt senior Breanna Mobley had a stellar week for the Broncos.  In Wednesday's win against Detroit Mercy, she was the team's second-highest scorer with 16 points along with a team-high 15 rebounds and three blocks, good for her second straight double-double on the season. On Sunday against Florida Atlantic University, she led the Broncos with 21 points along with a team-high 14 rebounds, shooting 9-for-18 from the field and notching her third straight double-double. With 808 rebounds total in her career, she is quickly approaching the 1,000-rebound mark to go along with her admission into the 1,000-point club her previous season.
