BOWLING GREEN, Ohio -- The Bowling Green University women's basketball team used a first-quarter run to take control on Monday night (Nov. 18), and the Falcons went on to an 88-54 win over Notre Dame College at the Stroh Center. BGSU is now 3-0 on the young season.
The (BGSU) Falcons got key contributions from multiple players in the win over the (NDC) Falcons. Junior Angela Perry scored a game-high 20 points, going 9-for-13 from the field, and she had nine rebounds in the win. Fourth-year Falcon Caterrion Thompson hit seven of her nine field-goal attempts en route to 18 points on the night.
Freshman Kaillie Hall had her second-straight double-digit game with 12 points, while both sophomore Kadie Hempfling and freshman Elissa Brett flirted with double-doubles. Hempfling and Brett each had eight points, and Brett added 10 rebounds in the victory.
Hempfling was actually one basket away from a triple-double, with 11 rebounds and 10 assists in addition to those eight points. And, freshman Olivia Trice came off the bench to score seven points in just eight minutes. BGSU had a 59-26 advantage on the boards, with 17 offensive rebounds on the night.
The visitors got 11 points from Theresa Parr, while Kyleigh Ramlow -- a Toledo native -- had nine points.
BG trailed, 5-2, early on, before going on a 20-2 run to take a double-digit lead for good. The visitors got a bucket in the final minute of the first quarter to get within 13 points, but BGSU then scored the first 10 points of the second period to take a 32-9 lead, and the game never was closer than 21 points thereafter.
