AKRON, Ohio (AP) Loren Cristian Jackson had 18 points as Akron rolled past South Carolina Upstate 76-45 on Monday night.
Greg Tribble had 11 points for Akron (3-1). Camron Reece added 10 points and seven rebounds. Xeyrius Williams had a career-high 13 rebounds and four blocks for the home team.
Tommy Bruner led the Spartans (1-4) with eight points. South Carolina Upstate shot 18 of 67 (27%) and was 4 of 13 (30.8%) from the foul line.
Everette Hammond, who led the Spartans in scoring heading into the matchup with 13.0 points per game, was held to only 6 points (3 of 12). Bryson Mozone, who was second on the Spartans in scoring coming into the contest with 11 points per game, was 1 of 9.
Akron plays Youngstown State at home on Thursday. South Carolina Upstate plays Louisville on the road on Wednesday.

DEKALB, Ill. – The Northern Illinois University men's basketball team held Longwood to just 28.1 percent (16-of-57) shooting as the Huskies defeated the Lancers, 65-48, on Monday night at the NIU Convocation Center. Sophomore Darius Beane scored a team-high 14 points while seniors Lacey James and Noah McCarty each posted double-doubles.
James finished with 11 points and 10 rebounds while McCarty had 10 points and 10 rebounds. It was the first time NIU had two players record double-doubles in the same game since November 9, 2018 against Northern Kentucky (Levi Bradley and Lacey James). Senior Eugene German finished with 12 points.
NIU will head on the road on Wednesday, November 20, as the Huskies travel to Macomb to meet Western Illinois to begin a stretch of six-of-seven away from home. Game time against the Leathernecks is slated for 7:30 p.m.
Central Michigan 115, Siena Heights 48

MT. PLEASANT, Mich. (AP) Dallas Morgan had a career-high 27 points, including seven 3-pointers, as Central Michigan rolled past Siena Heights 115-58 on Monday night.
Rob Montgomery had 17 points for Central Michigan (4-0). Travon Broadway added 15 points and seven assists. Corey Redman had 11 points and David DiLeo, averaging 23 points, was held to seven points.
DeMarco Dickerson had 13 points and eight rebounds for the Saints. He also had eight turnovers. Kevin Smith added 13 points.
Central Michigan faces Minnesota on the road on Thursday.
