MAC Storylines
• Week 10 features only three games on Saturday, Nov. 2nd as the Conference begins the transition toward November midweek football for the final stretch of the 2019 regular season. Buffalo will travel to Eastern Michigan at Noon ET (ESPNU), while NIU visits Central Michigan at Noon ET (CBS Sports Network) and Akron heads to Bowling Green at 2:00 pm ET (ESPN+). The Buffalo at Eastern Michigan contest will be another crossover contest. This season, the MAC West Division has a 6-3 record over MAC East Division opponents in early MAC crossover contests.
• Ohio head coach Frank Solich moved into a tie for first place on the MAC’s all-time career head coaching wins list with a 34-21 win at Ball State. Solich has 110 career wins and needs one win to become the all-time winningest coach in MAC history (110, Herb Deromedi, Central Michigan, 1978-93). Solich and the Bobcats will host Miami on Wednesday, Nov. 6 at 8:00 pm ET on ESPN2 in the 96th meeting in the ‘Battle of the Bricks’.
• Miami head coach Chuck Martin reached a coaching plateau with his 100th career victory as a head coach in the RedHawks 23-16 win at Kent State. Martin is in his sixth year at Miami with a 26-43 record in Oxford. Martin has a 100-50 career record during his 12 years of coaching at Grand Valley State and Miami.
• Midweek MACtion is coming Nov. 5th! The MAC will play 14 games on national television with games on Tuesday (8 games), Wednesday (5 games) and Thursday (1 game) during the final four weeks of the regular season in November on national television with ESPN2, ESPNU, ESPN+ and CBS Sports Network providing coverage. The MAC began midweek football in 1999 and this year marks the 21st season of MAC midweek football.
MAC Notebook
• Western Michigan rushed for 399 yards and six touchdowns in a 49-10 win over Bowling Green. The Broncos six rushing touchdowns were the second most in program history as LeVante Bellamy had 178 yards rushing and a career-high four touchdowns on 17 carries.
• Ohio rushed for a season-high 316 yards in a 34-21 win at Ball State. Ohio quarterback Nathan Rourke rushed for a season-high 127 yards and two touchdowns for his eighth career 100-yard performance. Rourke added 8-16 passing for 131 yards. Rourke has scored 44 career touchdowns, third most in school history and extended his school record for career touchdowns responsible for to 96 scores.
• Toledo rushed for 366 yards and quarterback Eli Peters hit tight end Drew Rosi for a 15-yard touchdown for a 37-34 (OT) win over Eastern Michigan. Toledo running back Bryant Koback rushed for a career-high 259 yards and two touchdowns. It was the most rushing yards by a Rocket since Kareem Hunt ran for 271 yards vs. Arkansas State in the 2015 GoDaddy Bowl.
• Northern Illinois running back Tre Harbison recorded his third 100-yard rushing game of the season and eighth of his career with 158 yards rushing and two touchdowns in a 49-0 win over Akon. The Huskies recorded their first shutout since a 63-0 win at UMass on Nov. 3, 2012, a span of 93 games.
• Buffalo forced five turnovers and running back Jaret Patterson rushed for 149 yards and two touchdowns and safety Joey Banks had 10 tackles, one interception and a forced fumble in leading the Bulls to a 43-20 win over Central Michigan.
• Miami rushed for a season-high 289 yards in a 23-16 win at Kent State. Miami running back Tyre Shelton recorded 148 yards on 14 carries. The win marked Miami head coach Chuck Martin’s 100th career coaching victory.
