Male Scholar Athlete of the Week
 
Ohio's Nathan Rourke, Football - Quarterback (Senior, 3.706, Physical Activity & Sport Coaching)
Senior quarterback Nathan Rourke (Oakville, Ontario, Canada) helped the Ohio football team (4-4, 3-1 MAC) pile up a season-high 316 rushing yards in a 34-21 win over Ball State last Saturday (Oct. 26) at Scheumann Stadium in rainy Muncie, Ind., running for a season-high 127 yards and two touchdowns. Rourke recorded his eighth career 100-yard rushing game and has now scored 44 career rushing touchdowns, which is good for third-most in program history. He extended his school record for career touchdowns responsible for to 96. Rourke scored the Bobcats' first touchdown from one yard out in the first quarter and their last from 12 yards out in fourth. On a tough day for passing the football, Rourke completed eight of his 16 attempts for 131 yards. 
 


Female Scholar Athlete of the Week
 
Buffalo's Brittney Beetcher, Swimming and Diving - Freestyle (Junior, 4.00, Management)
Brittney Beetcher displayed her dominance against Ball State as she finished in the top-three in all four of her events. Beetcher claimed first place in both the 200 and 400 freestyle events. She finished the 200 freestyle in a time of 1:53.54, while winning by 3.30 seconds. In the 400 freestyle, she won by over 15 seconds with a time of 5:01.27. Beetcher wasn’t done as she helped her teammates to a second place finish in the 400 medley relay and a third place finish in the 200 freestyle relay.
