• Ball State (10-4, 1-0 MAC) led wire-to-wire in an 79-64 victory at Savage Hall, knocking off Toledo (12-2, 0-1 MAC). It was the fourth straight meeting with Toledo in which the Cardinals never trailed. Tayler Persons led four double-figure scorers with 21 points, while Tahjai Teague logged his second double-double of the year with 20 points and 12 rebounds. Teague was 3-for-4 from 3-point range.
• No. 20 Buffalo (13-1, 1-0 MAC) used a 12-0 first half run as they defeated Eastern Michigan 74-58 in the Mid-American Conference opener for both teams. The UB defense held Eastern Michigan (6-8, 0-1 MAC) to just 33.3% shooting as the Bulls improved to 13-1 on the season. It is the best start through 14 games since Buffalo won 14 straight to open the year in 1930-31.
