The University at Buffalo women's basketball team picked up its third straight win, defeating Ball State 77-65 Wednesday night at Alumni Arena. Senior Cierra Dillard led the Bulls with 21 points, seven assists and three steals as UB improved to 11-4 on the season and 3-1 in league play. "That's what we do it for," head coach Felisha Legette-Jack said. "As a mom, to hear them laugh, to hear them really leave it out there and to play hard and then at the end to have that laughter in the locker room, that's what I do it for."

Eastern Michigan 72, Akron 60 // Box Score
A balanced and efficient offensive performance paired with a strong defensive effort fueled the Eastern Michigan University women's basketball team to a 72-60 win over the University of Akron Wednesday night, Jan. 16, inside James A. Rhodes Arena. The win snapped EMU's four-game losing streak against UA and marked Eastern's first win in the Rubber City since the 2010-11 season. Freshman Jenna Annecchiarico led the Eagles with 17 points, while sophomore Courtnie Lewis and Autumn Hudson added 14 and 10 points, respectively.

Miami 70, Central Michigan 67 // Box Score
The Miami University women's basketball team (11-4, 2-2 MAC) handed Central Michigan (12-4, 3-1 MAC) its first conference loss on Wednesday, beating the Chippewas by a 70-67 margin. This is the first time since 2016 that CMU has been defeated at home by a conference opponent. Savannah Kluesner led the way with 21 points and seven rebounds. Kendall McCoy, Leah Purvis and Lauren Dickerson also scored in double figures with 17, 13 and 10, respectively. The RedHawks shot 54 percent from the floor.

The Northern Illinois University women's basketball team earned its first road win of the season at Stroh Center Wednesday evening, defeating the Bowling Green Falcons 66-52. "Our defense was consistent all night, and we got much better flow and spacing on offense in the second half," said head coach Lisa Carlsen. "We created our own offense and got into positions to be successful."

Behind a game-high 23-point performance from sophomore guard Cece Hooks (Dayton, Ohio), the Ohio Women's Basketball team (14-1, 3-1 MAC) held off Kent State (10-5, 3-1 MAC), 83-81, at the Convocation Center on Wednesday night. Hooks was 7-of-11 from the field and 8-of-12 from the free-throw line for her 23 points while chipping in four assists and a team-high three steals in 29 minutes. Redshirt freshman forward Erica Johnson(Mansfield, Ohio) added 16 points by going 5-of-10 from the field. She dished out three assists while adding six rebounds in 34 minutes.

Toledo 80, Western Michigan 57 // Box ScoreThe trio of junior Mariella Santucci, sophomore Nakiah Black and senior Kaayla McIntyre combined for 55 points in Toledo's 80-57 victory at Western Michigan on Wednesday in University Arena. With the impressive road triumph, the Rockets improve to 10-5 overall and 2-2 in the Mid-American Conference. Santucci and Black tallied 19 points each, while McIntyre had 17 to help UT record its 10th-consecutive win against MAC West Division foe WMU (7-8, 1-3 MAC). The Midnight Blue & Gold also received nine points from sophomore Tanaya Beacham to snap a mini two-game losing skid.
