Akron // Jim Green Invitational
University of Akron track and field senior Mackenzie Andrews (Toowoomba, Australia) ran a school-record time of 9:28.39 to capture the women's 3,000 meters with the fifth-fastest time in the NCAA this season to spark the efforts of the Zips on the final day of the Jim Green Invitational hosted by Kentucky on Saturday, Jan. 12. Akron finished the day posting four individual victories as part of 14 overall top-five and 26 top-10 performances.

Ball State // Jim Green Invitational
Led by a Mid-American Conference automatic qualifying mark in the 60m hurdles by senior Jazmin Smith, the Ball State track & field team turned in a solid effort Saturday to close competition in the Jim Green Invitational hosted by Kentucky. Facing a lot of tough competition, including two of the nation's top 50 runners, Smith earned a spot in the finals with a prelim time of 8.60. She went on to take sixth overall by improving her time in the finals to a season-best effort of 8.50. Both times were good enough to be MAC Indoor Championship automatic qualifying marks, with her finals time currently leading the league.

Bowling Green // Wolverine Invitational
After six weeks off of competition, the Bowling Green State University track & field team returned to action Saturday at Michigan's Wolverine Invitational. Bowling Green picked up nine top-10 finishes and four in the top five.

Buffalo // Wolverine Invitational
The University at Buffalo men's and women's indoor track and field teams competed at the Wolverine Invitational hosted by Michigan University over the weekend. The meet was highlighted by an individual victory from junior Leon Atkins, who broke the school record in the 600m event. Leon Atkins had the most impressive individual victory on the day for the Bulls which came in the 600m event, as the junior shattered the school record in the event with a time of 1:18.86. The time bested the second placed finisher from Michigan by over two seconds.

Central Michigan // Jack Skoog Open
Nadia Williams won three events and in the process set the Central Michigan women's indoor long jump record on Friday to highlight the Chippewas' Jack Skoog Open track & field meet in front of a packed house at the Jack Skoog Indoor Track. Williams, a junior, won the women's 60-meter dash in 7.63 seconds and placed first in the long jump with a leap of 6.41 meters, shattering the previous mark of 19 feet, 11 ¾ inches set in 2005 by Tamera Thomas. Converted to feet and inches, Perry's leap on Friday measured better than 21 feet.

Eastern Michigan Men // Wolverine Invitational
The Eastern Michigan University men's track and field team saw seven student-athletes earn top-three finishes at the Wolverine Invitational, Saturday, Jan. 12, at the U-M Indoor Track at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, Mich. The day saw one Eagle earn an event title as senior Tyler Underwood (Clinton, Mich.-Clinton) continued his early-season successes with the top finish in the 200m. His time of 21.49 seconds also set the Wolverine Invitational record for the event, besting former Eagle Tyler Brown's finish of 21.51 at the meet last season.

Eastern Michigan Women // Wolverine Invitational
The Eastern Michigan University women's track and field team competed in the Wolverine Invitational, Saturday, Jan. 12, at the U-M Indoor Track located on the University of Michigan campus in Ann Arbor, Mich. The Eagles saw top-two finishes from four student-athletes, while 11 marked career-best efforts at the event. "I thought that our results were mixed today", noted Head Coach Sue Parks.  "We had some good performances here and there but some areas were disappointing.  The early meets tend to be like this, but we know that we need to get better across the board and that will be our goal moving forward."

Kent State // Wolverine Invitational
Sophomore Grace Tennant was victorious in the shot put for the Kent State indoor track and field team at the Wolverine Invitational Saturday afternoon. The Flashes picked up twelve additional top-five finishes in the first competition of 2019. Tennant's first place finish in the shot put highlighted Kent State's performance as she posted a mark of 14.94 meters (14'-00.25").

Miami // Jim Green Invitational
After a full day of events, the Miami University track and field team completed its first full-squad meet Saturday at the University of Kentucky's Jim Green Invitational. While the RedHawk women had gotten a quick warmup meet under their belts at Bowling Green in December, this weekend served as the first indoor track and field meet of the season for the Miami men. The 'Hawks were part of a 20-team field that included several power-conference schools and some familiar Mid-American Conference foes as well.

Northern Illinois // Gene Edmonds Open
Sophomore Kenyae Majors (Burlington, N.C./Hugh Cummings) set a new school record in the long jump as the Northern Illinois University women's track and field team competed for the first time in 2019 on Saturday at Purdue's Gene Edmonds Invitational. Majors recorded a best leap of 5.84m (19-02.00) to edge the previous school record of 5.83m (19-01.50) set by Jehvania Whyte at last year's MAC Championships and finish fourth at the Gene Edmonds Invitational.

Ohio // Marshall Women's Classic
Ohio track and field kicked off the 2019 indoor season at the Marshall Women's Classic on Saturday (Jan. 12) where they placed fourth with a score of 70.5. The Bobcats competed with Marshall, Duquesne, James Madison, Wright State, Cleveland State and Morehead State.

Toledo // Wolverine Invitational
The Toledo women's track & field team kicked off their indoor season at Michigan's Wolverine Invitational in Ann Arbor today. The Rockets recorded six top-five finishes, including a personal record in the triple jump by senior Janell Rowe. "It was kind of a mixed bag," said head coach Linh Nguyen. "I wasn't expecting anything spectacular, as we've only been together for a week. We definitely have some things to work on. I think mostly we just need to get back into a competitive mentality."

Western Michigan // Illini Open
The Western Michigan track and field team tied for second place at the 2019 Illini Open at the University of Illinois on Saturday evening. The Broncos finished with 102 points, tying South East Missouri and finishing behind host Illinois. WMU finished ahead of Murray State, Saint Louis, Eastern Illinois, Butler and Northwestern. Western Michigan took home two event titles, winning the 4x400-meter relay and the shot put.
