University of Akron redshirt junior Mackenzie Andrews and junior Marc Migliozzi led the efforts of the Zips' cross country squads at the 50th annual Tommy Evans Invitational on Saturday, Sept. 8, at the Silver Creek Metro Park in Norton, Ohio. The Tommy Evans Invitational marked the third year for the Zips to race on the dedicated cross-country course at Silver Creek Metro Park.

Bowling Green // Mel Brodt Collegiate Opener
Men's Results | Women's Results
Despite a few raindrops, the Falcons' first home meet of the year was a success. After starting strong at the Toledo Rockets Invitational last week, BGSU's Cross Country teams were able to carry the momentum into the 31st Mel Brodt Collegiate Opener. Noah Schaub led the men's team with a first place finish, while Rachel Walny came in second for the women with a photo finish to conclude the event.

Eastern Michigan Women // George Dales Invitational
The Eastern Michigan University women's cross country team topped Western Michigan University at the George Dales Invitational in Three Rivers, Mich. Friday, Sept. 7. EMU finished the 5k with all nine runners within the top-15, including four in the top-five, closing out the meet with a team score of 19 points.

unior Clark Bookman followed his fifth place finish in the Toledo Opener with his first victory of his collegiate career at the Tommy Evans Invitational with a time of 19:51.0. He helped lead the men to a fourth place finish.

The Ohio men's and women's cross country teams return to Athens after the Bluegrass Invitational in Lexington, Ky. The men's team took first overall as a team while the women had 7 runners finish in the top fifteen.

Toledo // Mel Brodt Collegiate Opener
Junior Athena Welsh mustered a last-minute burst of speed to secure a first-place finish in Friday's Mel Brodt Collegiate Opener hosted by Bowling Green State University. Welsh concluded the 5K event with a time of 17:06.1 over Rachel Walny, a two-time NCAA track qualifier, who had been leading for most of the race.

Western Michigan // George Dales Invitational
In her first meet of the season, senior captain Sarah Anderson led the Western Michigan cross country team on Friday night at the 2018 George Dales Invitational, claiming third overall. As a team, the Broncos fell short in their lone home meet of the season to the reigning Mid-American Conference Champion Eastern Michigan at Pine View Golf Club.
