he Ball State women's volleyball team set the tone early with three blocks in the first seven points on its way to a 3-0 (25-23, 25-21, 25-20) sweep of Eastern Michigan in Mid-American Conference play Friday night in Worthen Arena. In improving to 11-5 (2-1 MAC), the Cardinals out-blocked the Eagles (10-7; 2-1 MAC) by an 8.0 to 3.0 margin for the match. EMU entered the contest as the league's top blocking team at 2.35 blocks per set. Thanks to its solid play on both offense and defense, however, Ball State was able to raise its season total to a league-leading 2.35 blocks per set while dropping Eastern Michigan's mark to 2.28.

Buffalo 3, Ohio 2 // Box Score
The University at Buffalo volleyball team picked up their first Mid-American Conference win on Friday evening as the Bulls earned their first ever victory at Ohio with a come from behind 3-2 victory against the Bobcats.  With the win, the Bulls improve to 9-6 on the season and 1-2 in league play. UB took the match 25-22, 17-25, 22-25, 26-24, 15-9. The Bulls took the opening set as a kill from sophomore Andrea Mitrovic opened a 14-7 advantage. Buffalo extended its lead to 17-11 before Ohio came all the way back to pull within 23-21 late. A kill from Mitrovic clinched the opening set.

Kent State 3, Ohio 2 // Box Score
Kent State fell earned its first Mid-American Conference victory of the season by downing rival Akron in a thriller, 3-2 (27-25, 30-32, 17-25, 25-18, 15-12), on Friday evening at the M.A.C. Center. The victory gives Kent State early bragging rights in the department-wide Crystal Clinic Wagon Wheel Challenge with a 0.5-0 lead. The Golden Flashes (8-9, 1-2 MAC) closed the match with an 11-4 run to overcome a four-point deficit when the teams switched sides of the court at the midpoint of the fifth set. Redshirt freshman Alex Haffner provided tough serving to tie the score at 8-8. After video review upheld a call that put Kent State ahead 10-9, freshmen Kathryn Ellison and Melissa Kolurbasi combined for five kills to take the Flashes across the finish line.

Toledo 3, Central Michigan 0 // Box Score
The Toledo women's volleyball team continued its winning ways on Friday with a 3-0 victory over Central Michigan at Savage Arena. The Rockets have won six of their last seven matches. Zoe Birnbrich hit .364 and tallied a match-high 11 kills, while Chloee Kleespies, Emma Swope, and Elise Wilcox all added seven terminations. Alexis Falzone registered three blocks, the fourth time in the last five matches she has had at least three in a match. Carly Townsend was credited with 30 assists
