Torpy grabbed first at Saturday's RedHawk Rumble in Oxford running the 8k in 25:01.0, marking the second week in a row that he has been the highest-finishing RedHawk following his top-ten finish at Iona last week.
Women’s Runner of the Week
Sydney Meyers, Eastern Michigan
Senior – Zionsville, Indiana/Zionsville Community
Senior captain Sydney Meyers paced the Eagles with a fourth-place finish out of over 200 participants at the Battle In Beantown Friday, Sept. 21 in Jamaica Plain, Mass. Meyers clocked in at 17:18.9, finishing just two seconds behind the second and third-place harriers, and nine seconds behind the individual champion. This is the second consecutive meet Meyers has led EMU, after claiming the individual title at the George Dales Invitational, Sept. 7. Moreover, her performance helped propel Eastern to a 10th-place team finish, ending with a team score of 204 points and edging out No. 11-ranked Providence College.

Ran a personal record 21:36.7 on Saturday at the RedHawk Rumble in Oxford to take first place overall.
Austin Wicker, Eastern Michigan
Junior – Pinckney, Michigan/Pinckney
Junior captain Austin Wicker led the EMU harriers with a 21st-place finish at the Western International Invitational Saturday, Sept. 22 in London, Ontario. His finishing mark of 24:58 serves as a new career-best 8k time for the Pinckney, Mich. native. Overall, his finish helped Eastern place sixth with a final team score of 142 points.
