Men’s Runner of the Week
Noah Schaub, Bowling Green
Senior – Uniontown, Ohio/Green
Schaub crossed the finish line with a first-place finish, his second top two finish in as many races. Schaub was also able to improve his personal best in the 5k by more than 5 seconds, with a new best of 15:25.0. His previous best was recorded at the same event last year.
Women’s Runner of the Week
Sydney Meyers, Eastern Michigan
Senior – Zionsville, Indiana/Zionsville
Senior co-captain Sydney Meyers captured the individual title at the George Dales Invitational in Three Rivers, Mich. Friday, Sept. 7. Not only did her final time of 17:20.1 warrant a first-place finish, but it also served as the best mark of the meet by over 10 seconds.

Sarah Anderson, Western Michigan
Senior – Grand Rapids, Michigan/Forest Hills Central
In her first meet of the season, senior captain Sarah Anderson led the Western Michigan cross country team on Friday night at the 2018 George Dales Invitational, claiming third overall with a personal best 5K time of 17:39.8.
Mackenzie Andrews, Akron
R-Junior – Toowoomba, Australia/Fairholme College
In the opening race of the 2018 campaign, Akron redshirt junior Mackenzie Andrews crossed the line second in the women's 5K race in a team-best time of 17:35 to lead Akron to the women's title with 32 points.
Clark Bookman, Kent State
Junior – Mogadore, Ohio/Field
First win of his collegiate career. First Kent State runner to win a race since 2012.
Cayla Eckenroth, Ball State
Sophomore – Novi, Michigan/Northville
For the second straight week it was sophomore Cayla Eckenroth who led the Cardinals to the finish line, as she placed second among the 126 runners at the IWU Twilight Classic with a career-fast 5K time of 18:23.1.
Tom Jozwiak, Eastern Michigan
R-Senior – Southgate, Michigan/Thomas J. Anderson
Redshirt senior Tom Jozwiak led the Eagles to a fourth-place team finish at the Detroit Titan Invitational Saturday, Sept. 8. Jozwiak ran to a finishing time of 20:39.0, placing the Green and White with a fifth-place individual finish.
Dismas Koech, Toledo
Junior – Eldoret, Kenya/St. Patrick’s
Dismas Koech secured third place with a time of 15:40.3 at the Mel Brodt Collegiate Opener 5K.
Mark Migliozzi, Akron
Junior – Pittsburgh, PA/North Allegheny
In the opening race of the 2018 campaign, Akron junior Marc Migliozzi covered the four-mile course in a team-best time of 19:55.0 to place third in the men's field.
Josh Park, Ohio
Sophomore – Amherst, Ohio/Marion Steel
Sophomore Josh Park led the Bobcats in the Bluegrass Invitational in Kentucky this past week. He finished second in the 8K race with a time of 25:32.7. His contribution helped the team claim a first-place finish over Kentucky and Thomas More with a total team score of 27 points.
Athena Welsh, Toledo
Junior – Louisville, Ohio/St. Thomas Aquinas
Athena Welsh clinched her second win of the season, taking first with a time of 17:06.1. Welsh's finishing time was a mere .4 milliseconds faster than Bowling Green's Rachel Walny, who was the front-runner for a majority of the race.
Rachel Walny, Bowling Green
Senior – Clinton Township, Michigan/Chippewa Valley
Walny led the way for the Falcons, missing first place by only :00.5 while setting a new school record for the 5k with a time of 17:06.5. This beat her previous time of 17:09.9 from last year's Joe Piane Notre Dame Invitational. This was Walny's first race of the season, making the record even more impressive.
