Bowling Green Shuts Out Oakland in Home Opener

The Bowling Green State University women's soccer team began the home portion of the 2018 schedule on a successful note Saturday afternoon (Aug. 25). Three different players found the back of the net as the Falcons downed Oakland University, 3-0, at Cochrane Stadium.
Junior Maureen Kennedy got the Falcons on the board in the 35th minute, converting a penalty kick after sophomore Sophia Barnes was tripped in the penalty area. Redshirt sophomore Nikki Cox and redshirt senior Erica Hubertscored second-half goals for the Brown and Orange to seal the victory.
Junior Kathleen Duwve was forced to make just one save en route to the shutout. BGSU held advantages of 19-7 in total shot attempts and 9-1 in shots on goal.
