MAC Announces 2018 Women's Soccer Preseason Poll
CLEVELAND, Ohio - The Mid-American Conference Women's Soccer Head Coaches have made their preseason predictions for the 2018 season. The Kent State Golden Flashes are the favorite to win the MAC regular season title as well as the MAC Championship in November.
Kent State defended their 2016 MAC Tournament Championship last season, finishing 2017 at the top of the East Division with a regular season record of 13-6-2 (9-2 MAC) before falling to Bowling Green in the semi-finals of the MAC Tournament.
Following Kent State in the poll was 2017 West Division Champion Ball State tallying a total of 119 points, with Bowling Green, Buffalo, and Central Michigan finishing closely behind.
2017 MAC Tournament champion Toledo was selected to finish 6th with a total of 74 points followed by Eastern Michigan, Ohio, and Western Michigan. Akron and Northern Illinois finished tied for the 10
th place with 40 points apiece, while Miami rounded out the poll finishing with 30 points.
The 2018 season begins this weekend kicking off on Thursday, August 16th.
