2018 Baseball Academic All-MAC Team Announced
CLEVELAND, Ohio– The Mid-American Conference announced Monday the 2018 Baseball Academic All-MAC Team. A total of 69 student-athletes were named to the team from this past season.
Kent State led this year’s team with a total of 11 student-athletes. Central Michigan, Ohio, Toledo & Western Michigan each had eight honorees on this year’s squad.
Ohio’s Rudy Rott was named to the team after being selected as the MAC Player of the Year, while Kent State’s Joey Murray was also honored as an Academic All-MAC selection following being named MAC Pitcher of the Year.
The Academic All-MAC honor is for a student-athlete who has excelled in athletics and academics. To qualify, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.20 cumulative GPA and have participated in at least 50 percent of the contests for that particular sport.
