FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The Kent State Golden Flashes came roaring back after starting the final round ten strokes back to become the 2018 Mid-American Conference Men's Golf Champions. The title marks the 25th in program history.

The Golden Flashes finished the four round Championship at Sycamore Hills Golf Club with a score of 1196 (+44). Ball State finished in second place (1199), while Miami (1209), Akron (1226) & Northern Illinois (1239) closed out the Top-5. 

Kent State also took individual medalist honors, with Ian Holt finishing first overall. Over four rounds, the senior finished at +7 (74-77-72-72 = 295). 
 
Kent State receives an automatic berth to the 2018 NCAA Men's Golf Regionals. Their selection will be released on Wednesday, May 2, 5:30 p.m. ET on the Golf Channel. A total 81 teams and 45 individuals will be selected to compete in the six NCAA Men’s Regional Championships, May 14-16. 30 teams and six individuals will advance from regional sites to the national championships.
