BUFFALO, N.Y. -- On a cold and gloomy day in Buffalo, N.Y., Akron softball was defeated by Buffalo 16-1 and 7-4 at Nan Harvey Field on Tuesday afternoon. The Zips tallied 12 hits combined on the afternoon with five hits in game one and seven in game two. Freshman Kayla Wulf (Maumee, Ohio) went 2-for-6, had two RBI, and hit her second home run of the season. Senior Cassie Gillespie (Sylvania, Ohio) chipped in three hits going 3-for-6, scored a run, and drew a walk, which improved her batting average to .281. Full Story...

BUFFALO, NY – Behind a strong offensive effort, the University at Buffalo softball team (13-17, 5-3 MAC) was able to collect a doubleheader sweep of the Akron Zips on Tuesday afternoon at Nan Harvey Field. The Bulls opened the day with a 16-1 victory before closing out game two with a 7-4 win. Through the two games, the UB lineup collected 23 runs and 22 hits as freshman Anna Aguonled the potent attack with a team-best seven RBI. Full Story...

KALAMAZOO, Mich. – Shaidan Knapp homered and doubled to lead a 10-hit Central Michigan attack as the Chippewa softball team downed Western Michigan, 5-2, on Tuesday in a MAC game at the Broncos’ Ebert Field. Game two of the scheduled doubleheader was postponed because of weather and will be made up as part of an April 11 doubleheader in Mount Pleasant. The win was CMU’s fifth straight.
