MUNCIE, Ind.- - Thanks to a sixth-inning RBI double from sophomore left fielder Haley Dominique and another dominating relief appearance from sophomore closer Alyssa Rothwell, the Ball State softball team closed its Friday doubleheader versus Western Michigan with a 7-6 win at the Softball Field at First Merchants Ballpark Complex. It was a memorable win on two accounts; as it was the 1000th win in program history and Rothwell picked up her program-record 10th career save. Full Story...

BUFFALO, N.Y. -- The Bowling Green State University softball team caught fire at the plate Friday afternoon (April 13), as the Falcons scored 18 runs in a doubleheader sweep of the University at Buffalo. BGSU topped the Bulls by scores of 7-3 and 11-1, posting a run-rule win in the second game. Five different Falcons hit a home run in the sweep, while six different BG players scored at least two runs and seven Falcons drove in two or more runs on Friday. Full Story...

BUFFALO, NY – The University at Buffalo softball team (14-22, 6-8 MAC) dropped both ends of a home doubleheader to the Bowling Green Falcons on Friday afternoon at Nan Harvey Field. The Falcons got on the board early in the first game of the doubleheader as Sammie Dees connected on a solo home run to deep left field to give the visitors the 1-0 lead through a half inning of play. Full Story...

YPSILANTI, Mich. - The Central Michigan softball team fell to Eastern Michigan in both games of the Mid-American Conference doubleheader on Friday at the Eagles' Varsity Field.  Eastern won the opener, 3-0, and then took the nightcap, 6-0. YPSILANTI, Mich. – Strong pitching and a well-balanced offense fueled the Eastern Michigan University softball team to a sweep of Central Michigan University Friday afternoon, April 13, at Varsity Field. EMU (9-29, 5-9 MAC) blanked CMU (18-18, 8-6 MAC) 3-0 in game one, before taking game two, 6-0. It marked the first time the Eagles have swept a doubleheader versus the Chippewas since 2009, while it was the first time EMU has posted back-to-back shutouts since 2016. Full Story...

OXFORD, Ohio – In an action-packed day at the Miami Softball Stadium, Kent State (20-17. 6-7 MAC) earned a split with Miami (16-19, 5-8 MAC). The Golden Flashes took game one, 4-3, but fell in an 11-inning marathon in game two, 6-5. OXFORD, Ohio – The Miami University softball team split the doubleheader with Kent State in nail-biting fashion. The RedHawks’ comeback fell short in the first game 4-3. TOLEDO, Ohio. – The Northern Illinois University softball team dropped both games of the doubleheader against the Toledo Rockets at Scott Park on Friday. The Huskies (14-26, 5-8) lost the first game, 2-0, and the nightcap 5-3. A three-run sixth by the Rockets proved to be the difference in game two of the day. Toledo scored the tying run on an RBI double by lead-off hitter Kylie Norwood and scored the go-ahead runs on an error by senior Alaynie Woollard.  Full Story...

TOLEDO, Ohio - Junior Kailey Minarchick tossed 7.1 scoreless innings to lead the Rockets to a pair of wins over Northern Illinois on Friday at Scott Park. Toledo was victorious with scores of 3-0 and 5-3 to move to 28-14 overall and 12-2 in conference. Minarchick was the pitcher of record in both of the Rockets' wins.
