Bowling Green: Led by three-year head coach and Bowling Green alum Michael Huger, the Falcons enters Monday's first round tournament clash in the midst of a five-game losing streak, including a 100-70 setback to MAC regular season champions Buffalo at home in its last outing. Bowling Green, which ranks No. 8 in the conference in scoring (71.2 ppg, MAC games only), features three players who average double figures -- redshirt freshman guard Justin Turner (15.8 ppg), junior forward Demajeo Wiggins (14.1 ppg) and sophomore guard Dylan Frye (11.9 ppg). Wiggins is the MAC's second-leading rebounder, averaging 10.1 boards per game.
Central Michigan: Central Michigan will be hosting a MAC Tournament game for the first time in its program’s history. Central Michigan won just three games over the fina leight games of the regular season,but two of those wins came last week, as the Chippewas defeated both Ball State and Western Michigan. CMU plays alot of zone on defense, while still shooting a ton of three-point shots on offense. However, CMU is shooting just 33.8 percent from downtown, despite taking 28.1 triples per game. Starters Shawn Roundtree (15.2PPG) and CecilWilliams (15.1PPG) rank 13th and 14th within the MAC in scoring, respectively.

Northern Illinois: NIU is seeded 12th in the MAC and will be facing the Golden Flashes for just the second time in the conference tournament. The two teams met in the first round in 2009, a 64-61 Kent State victory in Cleveland. The Huskies will look to take momentum into the conference tournament after a dramatic, 66-65 victory over Ball State in the final game of the regular season on Friday (March 2). Sophomore Eugene German hit a pull-up jumper from just inside the three-point line with 12.4 seconds left to lift the Huskies to the victory. German finished with a game-high 25 points against the Cardinals, junior Levi Bradley recorded his seventh career double-double with 18 points and 17 rebounds. Bradley's 17 boards is the most by a Huskie in a game since Jordan Threloff pulled down 18 against Eastern Michigan on Feb. 20, 2014.
Kent State: The Kent State men's basketball team embarks in postseason play on Tuesday, March 6th when it hosts Northern Illinois in the first round of the MAC Tournament at 7 p.m. at the M.AC. Center. Kent State is the #5 seed in this year's tournament a year after winning the tournament as the #6 seed. Jaylin Walker leads the team in scoring (17.0 ppg) and scored in double-digits for the 15th consecutive game, dropping 15 against Akron. He has 1,182 career points which is 19th in program history. He also ranks sixth in threes (195) in school history.

Ohio: The Bobcats are 41-30 (.577) all-time in the MAC Tournament -- including 2-3 (.400) under head coach Saul Phillips -- and have captured six league tournament crowns. The Bobcats won for the fourth time in their last five games with the victory at Miami. Ohio is averaging 82.4 points and shooting 49.2 percent (150-of-305) from the field -- including 42.4 percent (42-of-99) from beyond the arc -- over the last five contests. Five players are averaging double figures for the Bobcats over the last five games -- freshman guard Teyvion Kirk (Joliet, Ill.) with 15.8 points per game, Dartis with 15.6, Laster with 14.8, Taylor with 11.2 and redshirt sophomore guard James Gollon(Stevens Point, Wis.) with 10.
Miami: This is the 37th time Miami has qualified for the MAC Tournament, which ran for the first time in 1980. The Red and White are 39-32 all-time at the event and have won it four times in their history (1984, 1992, 1997 and 2007). This is the first time the RedHawks have hosted a MAC Tournament game since March 10, 2014, where they defeated Kent State, 71-64, inside Millett Hall.Junior guard Darrian Ringo currently ranks sixth in the nation with 224 total assists while his 7.2 assists per game average also ranks sixth. Ringo is fifth in the country with 84 total steals. His 2.74 steals per game average ranks seventh.
No. 11 Akron (13-17, 6-12 MAC) at No. 6 Western Michigan (17-14, 9-9 MAC)

Akron: The Akron Zips earned an 11 seed for the Mid-American Conference Tournament and travels to Kalamazoo, Mich. to play the No. 6 seed Western Michigan on Monday, March 5 at 7:45 p.m. at University Arena. The Zips have won at least one game in the MAC Tournament every year since the 2004-05 season and have made nine MAC Tournament title game appearances in the last 11 seasons with an unprecedented 12-straight semifinal appearances. The Zips' runs of the consecutive title game and semifinal appearances are the longest streaks in MAC history. The Zips are 24-11 at Quicken Loans Arena. Sophomore Daniel Utomi leads the Zips' scoring efforts with 16.5 points per game. During MAC play, Utomi is shooting 43 percent from the field (89-of-207) and 36 percent from beyond the 3-point arc (40-of-111).
Western Michigan: Western Michigan opens tournament play with a 17-14 overall record and 9-9 in MAC play. WMU averages 75.0 points per game on 43.8 percent shooting from the floor (819-of-1872) and 34.5 percent effort from beyond the 3-point arc (224-of-649), draining 7.2 triples a game. In addition, the Broncos shoot 72.2 percent from the free throw line (462-of-640) with 14.9 bonus buckets a night. Thomas Wilder leads the Broncos' offensive attack, averaging 18.8 points per game on 42.9 percent shooting from the field (183-of-427) and 33.6 percent rate from beyond the 3-point arc (46-of-137) with a second-best 46 made 3-pointers. Wilder leads the squad in assists (131) and steals (60). Josh Davis follows with 10.9 points per game on 48.2 percent shooting from the field (122-of-253). He is third on the squad from deep, draining 42-of-111 3-pointers for a 37.8 percentage while grabbing a team-best 6.4 rebounds a night (198 total rebounds).
