AKRON, Ohio – An offensive outburst by Ball State on day two of a three-game series resulted in a pair of wins as the Cardinals defeated the Akron softball team 9-1 and 16-5 to complete the sweep on Saturday afternoon at Lee Jackson Field. Akron now stands 1-26-1 and 0-6 in Mid-American Conference play, while Ball State improved to 23-10 and 5-1 in league play. Full Story...

AKRON, Ohio - It was another explosive day for Ball State softball's offense, which scored 25 combined runs in a doubleheader sweep of Akron Saturday afternoon at Lee R. Jackson Field. In the opener, four different Cardinals (23-10; 5-1 Mid-American Conference) hit a home run to lead the team to a 9-1 (5) victory. DeKALB, Ill. – The University at Buffalo softball team (11-17, 3-3 MAC) dropped the final game of a three-game series on the road to Northern Illinois on Saturday afternoon, 7-5. Catrell Robertsonled the Bulls with two RBI in the loss to the Huskies. After UB failed to score in the top of the first inning, the Huskies were able to get on the board in the bottom half of the inning as Sam Schmidt homered to center field to give the home team the 1-0 lead. Full Story...

KENT, Ohio – Bailey Brownfield hit an opposite field single to walk-off the Golden Flashes in the bottom of the seventh inning for a 7-6 victory. Kent State (17-12, 3-2 MAC) got the series opening win over Toledo (20-13, 4-1 MAC) in the first game of a doubleheader on Saturday at the Diamond at Dix. DEKALB, Ill. – The Northern Illinois University softball team defeated the Buffalo Bulls 7-5 on Saturday, completing the series sweep at Mary M. Bell Field. NIU (13-20, 4-2 MAC) outscored the Bulls 25-6 in the three-game series.  It is the Huskies' first Mid-American Conference series sweep since April 28-29, 2017, against Eastern Michigan, as NIU moves to 4-0 at home. Full Story...

YPSILANTI, Mich. – The Ohio softball team (18-12, 6-0 MAC) returned to action on Saturday (March 31) when they continued Mid-American Conference play against Eastern Michigan (4-25, 0-6 MAC), with the Bobcats coming away with the 4-3 victory. BOWLING GREEN, Ohio- The Western Michigan softball team completed a Mid-American Conference series sweep over Bowling Green with a 14-1 win Saturday. The Broncos took both games of Friday's doubleheader, winning 1-0 and 5-3. The weekend's results improved Western Michigan's overall record to 17-14, with a 4-2 mark in league play. WMU outscored the Falcons 20-4 over the three games. The 14 runs scored by the Broncos Saturday tied as the second most by the team this season. It was the fifth time in 2018 producing double-digit runs. Full Story...
