AKRON, Ohio - - Trailing 2-0 after three innings, the Ball State softball team used some more fourth inning magic to rally for a 5-2 victory at Akron Friday afternoon in Mid-American Conference play at Lee R. Jackson Field. The Cardinals, who have out-scored opponents 57-22 in the fourth inning this season, scored four two-out runs in the frame to take control of the game and improve to 21-10 (3-1 MAC) on the year.  Full Story...

DeKALB, Ill. – The University at Buffalo softball team (11-16, 3-2 MAC) couldn't get their offense on track on Friday afternoon at Northern Illinois as they dropped both ends of a series opening doubleheader to the Huskies. MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. - Three Central Michigan pitchers combined to allow only seven hits as the Chippewas swept a Mid-American Conference doubleheader from Miami (Ohio), 3-2 and 5-0, on Friday at Margo Jonker Stadium. The Chippewas (12-15, 2-3 MAC) are riding a three-game win streak and are scheduled to finish the three-game series with the RedHawks with a single game on Saturday (1 p.m.). BOWLING GREEN, Ohio- Mackenzie Swinehart came up with the game-winning hit twice on Friday, leading Western Michigan to a doubleheader sweep at Bowling Green. The Broncos took game one 1-0 and held off the Falcons 5-3 in eight innings in game two. Swinehart went 3-for-3 at the plate in game one and delivered the winning RBI with a two-out double in the fifth. Swinehart repeated her heroics in game two with another two-out double, scoring two runs in the top of the eighth to break a 3-3 tie. With the two victories Western Michigan improves to 16-14 overall on the season and 3-2 in the Mid-American Conference. Full Story...
