MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. - Mason Kalina delivered in the clutch and Taylor Weaver did the job out of the bullpen on Wednesday as the Central Michigan softball team topped Valparaiso, 8-3, in its home opener at Margo Jonker Stadium. The win broke a four-game losing streak and lifted the Chippewas to 10-15. The Crusaders fell to 14-12.

Allie Luther led the charge driving in six runs and crushed a double and a home run. The Golden Flashes (15-11) scored their most runs since dropping 18 against St. Bonaventure in 2015.
