MAC Men’s Singles Tennis Player of the Week
Maik Steiner, Western Michigan – Senior, Erbach, Germany (Gymnasium Michelstadt)
Western Michigan senior Maik Steiner is ranked No. 123 nationally and continues to lead the Broncos at No. 1. The senior picked up his third straight win on Friday, March 23 against Northern Illinois’ Kristopher Ortega (6-0 6-2), who is also the reigning MAC Player of the Week, improving his record overall to 23-9 and 10-5 in dual-match play. With the help of Steiner, the Broncos are now 14-4 overall, 8-0 at home and lead the league at 3-0.

Marko Guzina, Ball State – Junior, Toronto, Canada (Silverthorn Collegiate Institute)
Ball State junior Marko Guzina went 1-0 in MAC action last weekend after his straight set, 6-2, 7-5 take down over Toledo's Thawin Suksathaporn. Marko helped the Cardinals to a 5-2 victory over the Rockets and a 2-1 start in conference action.
MAC Men’s Tennis Doubles Team of the Week
Petr Vodak, Buffalo – Senior, Kromeriz, Czech Republic
Vidit Vaghela, Buffalo – Senior, Ahmedabad, India (A.G. High School)
Buffalo senior Petr Vodak and senior Vidit Vaghela won their lone match of the week as they came away with a 6-3 win at first doubles against Harvard’s top team of Kenny Tao and Logan Weber, 6-3. It was the only match finished this week for Vaghela and Vodak, who didn’t finish their match earlier in the week against Cornell. The Harvard Crimson were ranked No. 27 nationally when the Bulls met them.

Nemanja Guzina, Ball State – Junior, Toronto, Canada (Silverthorn Collegiate Institute)
Collin Rigney, Ball State – Junior, Greenburg, Ind. (Greenburg High School)
Ball State junior Nemanja Guzina and junior Collin Rigney helped the Cardinals take a 1-0 lead over the Rockets after winning their doubles match. The twosome registered a 6-3 win over Toledo's Stephen Miller and Danilo Vukotic on the top court. The win helped the Cardinals earn the 5-2 victory over the Rockets Saturday in MAC action. With the win, the Cardinals improved to 2-1 in league play and 12-5 overall. Guzina and Rigney are currently on a two-match win streak.

Lenhard Haupt, Western Michigan – Junior, Mainz, Germany (Stefan George Gymnasium)
Western Michigan senior Maik Steiner and junior Lenhard Haupt became the deciding match during doubles play on Friday, March 23 as the Western Michigan men’s tennis team went on to defeat Northern Illinois 6-1 to improve to 3-0 at MAC play. Together the two are 4-4 overall after defeating Eric Marbach/Kristopher Ortega at No. 2 with a score of 6-4 and as a team the Broncos are now 14-4 overall and an impressive 8-0 at home after the win over the Huskies.
