AKRON, Ohio - Freshman Bailey Curry hit her team-leading eighth home run and junior Kailey Minarchick tossed five shutout innings as the Rockets defeated Akron, 6-1, to complete a three-game sweep at Lee R. Jackson Field. With the win, the Rockets move to 17-12 overall and 3-0 in the Mid-American Conference, while Akron falls to 1-23-1 on the year and 0-3 to start the MAC season. Full Story...

KENT, Ohio- The Western Michigan softball team had a season-high 17 hits in a 12-1, six-inning victory over Kent State Sunday. WMU scored in every inning but the first. With the win, the Broncos improved their record to 14-13 overall and 1-2 in the Mid-American Conference. Freshman Sydney Stefanick went 4-for-4 with two doubles, two runs scored, and drove in a pair of runs. She hit her first career home run with a solo blast to left field in the sixth. Stefanick also picked up the win in the pitcher's circle, striking out four and allowing just one run over six innings. Full Story...
