Mid-American Conference

CLEVELAN, Ohio -  The Mid-American Conference announces its 2018 Women’s Indoor Track & Field Academic All-MAC team on Friday.
 
Of the 165 student-athletes receiving the honor, 11 of them recorded a perfect 4.0 grade point average; Brooke Talhelm (Ball State, Nursing), Rachel Durbin (BGSU, Individualized Studies), Aliyah Gustafson (BGSU, Exercise Science), Rachel Stute (BGSU, Dietetics), Sam Tollerud (Kent State, Exercise Science), Clare Cartheuser (Miami, Public Health), Alyssa Atkinson (Ohio, Electrical Engineering), Yana Khabina (Toledo, Physical Fitness), Taylor Fender (WMU, Criminal Justice), Brittney Hall (WMU, Occupational Therapy), Erica Sheahan (WMU, Accounting).
 
Toledo leads the conference with 18 student-athletes named to the academic team. Western Michigan follows close behind with 17, while Akron and Ohio respectively follow with places 16 and 15 student-athletes receiving the honor.
 
The Academic All-MAC honor is for a student-athlete who has excelled in athletics and academics. To qualify, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.20 cumulative GPA and have participated in at least 50 percent of the contests for that particular sport.
