Cardinals Drop 5-2 Road Decision

DEKALB, Ill. - The Ball State men's tennis team (11-5, 1-1 MAC) suffered a 5-2 loss in Mid-American Conference action Sunday afternoon against Northern Illinois (12-5, 2-0 MAC) at the Boylan Tennis Center. The Cardinals got off to a strong start after capturing the doubles point from the Huskies.  First off the court would be the No. 1 doubles twosome of Nemanja Guzina and Collin Rigney. Full Story...

Men's Tennis Wins MAC Opener Over Binghamton

DEKALB, Ill. - The Ball State men's tennis team opened its Mid-American Conference season with a 4-3 win over Binghamton Saturday afternoon at a neutral site which was played in DeKalb, Ill. With the win, Ball State moved to 11-4 overall and 1-0 in league action. The Cardinals fell behind early after losing the doubles point to Bearcats.  Binghamton took victories on courts one and two by a 6-2 decision to claim doubles play. Full Story...

Binghamton:
Bearcats Edged By Ball State

ROCKFORD, Ill. - Ball State (11-4, 1-0 MAC) won the clinching singles match in three sets to edge Binghamton men's tennis (3-12, 0-2 MAC) 4-3 Saturday afternoon at the neutral site Boylan Tennis Center at Northern Illinois. The Bearcats grabbed the doubles point with wins at Nos. 1 and 2 and then earned three-set wins at second and third singles. Junior No. 2 Ludovico Cestarollo dropped his opening set before roaring back for a 3-6, 6-3, 6-1 win. Sophomore No. 2 Kushaan Nath prevailed in a tight 6-2, 5-7, 6-4 match for his team-best eighth dual win of the season. Full Story...

Men's Tennis Drops MAC Opener

ROCKFORD, Ill. - Host Northern Illinois (11-5, 1-0 MAC) took the doubles point and won five of the six singles matches to defeat Binghamton men's tennis (3-11, 0-1 MAC) Friday afternoon at the Boylan Tennis Center. Sophomore No. 3 Kushaan Nath provided BU with its lone win - a 7-5, 6-1 triumph. Nath's win quickly tied the team score at 1-1 and the Bearcats pushed three other singles matches to a third-set but came up short in all three. Full Story...

Buffalo:
Nickell Picks Up 100th Win, Bulls Split Weekend


TOLEDO, OH – The University at Buffalo men's tennis team split its first two conference matches this weekend as the Bulls fell to Western Michigan on Saturday, while picking up their first MAC win on Sunday with a 6-1 victory over Toledo.  The win was also the 100th in the career of head coach Lee Nickell. The Bulls came out strong on Sunday, opening the day by clinching the doubles point.  Seniors Vidit Vaghela and Petr Vodak won at first doubles, 7-6, while the second doubles squad of Ethan Nittolo and Hao Sheng Koay won their match, 7-5. Full Story...

Men's Tennis Sweeps MAC Opening Weekend


ROCKFORD, Ill. -- The Northern Illinois University men's tennis team rebounding from losing the doubles point to earn a 5-2 victory over Ball State on Sunday afternoon at Boylan Tennis Center. With the win, the Huskies improve to 12-5 overall, 2-0 in Mid-American Conference play. Senior Eric Marbach and freshman Kristopher Ortega scored a 6-3 victory over Marko Guzina and Conner Andersen at number two but Ball State earned wins at one and three to give the Cardinals the doubles point and a 1-0 lead. Full Story...

Huskies Claim Convincing Win

ROCKFORD, Ill. – The Northern Illinois University men's tennis team opened Mid-American Conference play with a 6-1 win over Binghamton on Friday afternoon at Boylan Tennis Center. With the victory, the Huskies improved to 11-5 overall. Playing for the first time in 15 days, NIU claimed the doubles point to take the early lead and then won five of the six singles matches. Full Story...

Men's Tennis Falls To Buffalo


Toledo, Ohio - The Toledo men's tennis team (3-11) lost 6-1 to Buffalo (7-5) today to close out the opening weekend of Mid-American Conference competition. The loss against the reigning MAC champions comes two days after the Rockets fell 6-1 to Western Michigan. Full Story...

Rockets Drop MAC Opener

Toledo, Ohio - The Toledo men's tennis team (3-10) fell 6-1 today to Western Michigan (12-4) at home in Toledo to open Mid-American Conference play. The Rockets had some mid-set rallies that looked promising, but couldn't close out their matches the way they wanted. Men's Tennos Tops Buffalo


TOLEDO, Ohio – In a neutral site competition against the Mid-American Conference reigning tournament champions Buffalo, the No. 45-ranked Western Michigan men's tennis team defeated the Bulls 5-2 in its second conference match of the season. The Broncos improve to 13-4 overall and 2-0 in league play. The Broncos got started at No. 3 doubles with a win from Eric Olivarez and Nick Schnobel as the two are now 13-6 overall and 7-3 in spring play, defeating Fridell/Johnson 6-1. The team of Jannik Opitiz and Kennosuke Nouchi clinched the doubles point with a 6-4 win at No. 1.  Full Story...
