CLEVELAND, OH – No. 1 seed Buffalo defeated No. 2 seed Toledo, 76-66, in the Mid-American Conference Tournament Championship game at Quicken Loans Arena on Saturday night. Buffalo was paced by senior guard Wes Clark with 26 points, while forward Nick Perkins added 16 points.

Toledo opened an early 14-10 lead at the 12:23 mark of the first half, however, Buffalo tied the game at 21-21 on a Dontay Caruthers layup with 7:50 left in the half. Buffalo finished with a 13-8 run to lead 34-29 at the end of the first half. 

Buffalo jumped out in the second half with two quick three pointers by Nick Perkins and Wes Clark to open a 40-31 lead at the 18:29 mark. Toledo kept chipping away at the deficit and Willie Jackson's layup with 11:26 in the second cut the Buffalo lead to 49-47. Toledo's Marreon Jackson's three pointer tied the game at 63-63 with 5:32 left. 

Buffalo responed with two Wes Clark free throws with 3:57 left to open a 67-63 lead. Perkins nailed a three pointer to extend the Bulls lead to 70-63 with 2:50 left. Perkins muscled a basket off the glass with 1:50 left for a 72-63 lead and Buffalo held on the rest of the way for the victory.
