MAC Men’s Tennis Singles Player of the Week
Maik Steiner, Western Michigan – Senior, Erbach, Germany (Gymnasium Michelstadt)
Western Michigan senior Maik Steiner played a big role last weekend for the Western Michigan men’s tennis team, helping the Broncos improve to 8-2 on the season and 5-0 at home. Steiner is ranked No. 96. Western Michigan defeated William & Mary (6-1) in dominate fashion on Saturday before dropping their first match since Jan. 20 at No. 13-ranked Michigan on Sunday. Steiner picked up his 19th overall win, including his sixth at No. 1 this spring and fourth straight after defeating the Tribe’s Christian Cargil 6-1, 6-2. He followed that up by taking No. 42-ranked Hua of Michigan to the third set at No. 1 before the match was called. The senior leads all Broncos with an overall record of 19-6 and 6-2 in the spring, all of which come at the one spot.

Chris Adams, Ball State – Freshman, Port Huron, Mich. (Port Huron High School)
Ball State freshman Chris Adams helped the Cardinals extend their win streak to seven Saturday with Ball State’s 4-3 win over Lipscomb. With the match knotted 3-3, Adams claimed the fourth and final point for the Cardinals after his three-set thriller against the Bison’s Pedro Uribe at five singles. With the win, the Cardinals are now 7-1 in non-conference action.
Kushaan Nath, Binghamton – Sophomore, Delhi, India (Modern School Barakhamba)
Binghamton sophomore Kushaan Nath rallied from 3-0 down in the third set to win 6-4 and clinch the match for the Bearcats against George Mason.
Ethan Nittolo, Buffalo – Junior, Flushing, N.Y. (Townsend Harris High School)
Buffalo junior Ethan Nittolo had an easy time in his match at second singles as he dropped just three games total in a 6-2, 6-1 win over Duquesne’s Drew Akins. Nittolo picked up his 10th win of the season for the Bulls.
MAC Men’s Tennis Doubles Team of the Week
Ludovico Cestarollo, Binghamton – Junior, Rovereto, Italy
Alejandro Pena, Binghamton – Freshman, Valle Del Cauca, Colombia
Binghamton junior Ludovico Cestarollo and freshman Alejandro Pena went 2-0 on Saturday helping the Bearcats to the doubles point against Navy and they were the first off in the doubles against George Mason.

Conner Andersen, Ball State – Junior, Greenwood, Ind. (Center Grove High School)
Marko Guzina, Ball State – Junior, Toronto, Canada (Silverthorn Collegiate Institute)
Ball State junior Conner Andersen and junior Marko Guzina registered a 6-3 win over Lipscomb’s duo of Jorge Ortegon and Daniel Cardena on court two helping Ball State take the early 1-0 lead over the Bison’s Saturday afternoon. Ball State went on to win the match 4-3 and extend its win streak to seven.
Vidit Vaghela, Buffalo – Senior, Ahmedabad, India (A.G. High School)
Petr Vodak, Buffalo – Senior, Kromeriz, Czech Republic
Buffalo senior Vidit Vaghela and senior Petr Vodak continued their winning ways this past week as they scored a 6-2 win over Adam Blasinsky and Dane Bendel from Duquesne at first doubles. It was the first of three victories in doubles for the Bulls as they easily defeated Duquesne, 6-1.
