Ohio junior Corrin Van Lanen helped the Bobcats go 1-1 this weekend against Marshall and Bowling Green by winning seven events and placing second in one. Van Lanen kicked off the weekend against the Thundering Herd winning the 100 free with a time of 51.60, the 100 fly with a time of 56.36 and the 100 back with a time of 57.28. She finished the evening with a second-place finish in the 200 medley relay. The next afternoon, she won four-straight events to help take down the Falcons including the 50 free (23.82), the 100 back (57.81), the 100 fly (55.90), and the 200 medley relay (1:44.88).

Junior Tosh Kawaguchi (Cary, N.C.-Cary) was critical in Eastern’s 207-93 victory over Miami Saturday, Jan. 27. Kawaguchi ultimately earned CollegeSwimming.com Swimmer of the Week for the Mid-American Conference for his efforts against MU. The Cary, N.C. native brought in a meet-high 27 points against the RedHawks with three individual event wins alongside a relay first-place finish. Opening the meet with the 200 medley relay, Kawaguchi helped his cohort to a first-place finish by clocking the fastest 50 backstroke split in the pool. The junior then went on to sweep the back events for the second time this season. In the 100 back, he turned in a time of 48.94 to take the top-spot, while using a blistering time of 1:46.20 to take the 200 back. Kawaguchi capped his afternoon with his third event win in the 200 individual medley. Besting the field at 1:50.11, he finished nearly five full seconds ahead of the runner up.
Artur Osvath, Missouri State

Artur Osvath had another fantastic week in the pool thanks to two individual victories and a pair of records at the Shamrock Invitational. The junior was the lone Bear to earn an individual victory at the two-day meet. Osvath's first victory came in the 100 breast where he claimed the event with a NCAA B-standard time of 53.21 seconds. His time in the event marked a new personal best, as well as a meet and Rolfs Aquatic Center pool record. Clinching the 200 breaststroke, Osvath was masterful in the event once again. Meeting NCAA B-standards with a time of 1:54.65, he was the only swimmer to finish the race in under two minutes. Along with his individual efforts, he helped the Missouri State 200 medley relay squad place second overall and led the 400 medley relay team to a third-place finish. After the week, Osvath leads the Mid-American conference in the 200 breast, 200 fly and 200 IM.

Paloma Marrero, Akron

After a second-place finish at the prestigious Shamrock Invitational last weekend, senior Paloma Marrero recorded a time of 2:09.85 in the 200 breaststroke for a first place finish. Marrero also won the 100 breaststroke event with a time of 1:01.20, good for the seventh fastest time in the country.
Delaney Duncan, Eastern Michigan University

Junior Delaney Duncan (Galesburg, Ill-Galesburg) was a key swimmer in Eastern locking up its third consecutive season with an undefeated Mid-American Conference record with the 169-131 victory over Miami. Duncan swept the breaststroke events for the fifth time this season. The Galesburg, Ill. product turned in a season-best time of 1:01.40 to take first in the 100 breast before snagging the top spot in the 200 breast at 2:16.64. Duncan’s 100 breast time is the fourth fastest in the MAC this season. The junior capped the meet by making her season debut in the 400 freestyle relay where her cohort took third.
Pei Lin, Miami

Pei Lin continued to dominate as she swept the diving competition for the sixth time this season in a close meet against Eastern Michigan. Lin's 3-mtr dive score was close to 60 points greater than that of the second-place diver while her 1-mtr dive score topped all competition by at least 20 points.
Cassidy Blackwin, Ball State

Sophomore Cassidy Blackwin was able to earn eight points for the Cardinals in their final home meet of the season against Buffalo. She earned second place in both events that she competed in. Blackwin was able to earn the second place spot in the 1000 freestyle with a time of 10:45.80. In the 500 freestyle, Blackwin posted a time of 5:14.88 to earn the two spot.
Andrea Ernst, Buffalo

Sophomore Andrea Ernst had a strong weekend in the pool as she helped UB cruise to a dominant 212-88 victory on the road against Ball State on Saturday to help the Bulls move to 7-0 overall and 4-0 in MAC dual meets. Ernst was able to collect three victories, two individual and one relay win. The sophomore posted a first place finish in the 200 backstroke in a season-best time of 2:05.77 and in the 200 freestyle in a season-best time of 1:53.21. She was also the second leg of the Bulls victorious 400 freestyle relay team that finished with a season-best time of 3:36.31.

Harrison Moncino, Miami

Harrison Moncino led the Miami divers against Eastern Michigan, scoring personal season-highs in both the 1-mtr and the 3-mtr dive. Moncino's 1-mtr score is the highest on the team this season and the first performance to exceed 300 points in the 1-mtr. He bested his previous high score in the 1-mtr by over 37 points.
Ben Andrew, Ball State

Arlington Heights, Ill. (Andrew Christian Academy)
Ben Andrew was able to record two individual first place finishes and an individual second place finish, earning the Cardinals 22 points. He touched the wall at 21.85 to earn the first place spot in the 50 freestyle. In the 100 butterfly, he was able to finish atop the pack with a time of 51.94. He was also part of the second place finish in the 200 medley relay as the third leg. Andrew and teammates were able to post a time of 1:36.99 in that event.
