2018 Google Cloud Academic All-America Teams

AUSTIN, Texas - The College Sport Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) announced Thursday the women's soccer student-athletes selected for the 2018 Google Cloud Academic All-America team.

The Mid-American Conference had two student-athletes placed on the third team; Bowling Green's Elisa Baeron and Eastern Michigan's Kristin Nason.

Baeron, a native of Selsingen, Lower Saxony, Germany, played in all 22 of BG's matches, making a pair of starts. She was named the Mid-American Conference Tournament MVP as the Falcons won the league tourney title. Baeron – who arrived at BGSU mere months after the Falcons had completed a winless 2013 campaign – converted her penalty kick in the sixth round of the PK phase against Ball State in the MAC Tournament's championship match (Nov. 4), giving BG the title. She had two shot attempts during the match, including one that hit the post in the second overtime period, before converting the walk-off PK moments later.

A fifth-year senior, Baeron is an exercise science major with a perfect 4.00 cumulative grade-point average becomes just the second Academic All-America selection in program history.

Nason is the first Eagle to be named to a CoSIDA Academic All-America team since 2013, and just the fourth all-time, joining Stephanie Clarke, Amanda Kulikowski, and Tracy Deeter. She is one of 26 student-athletes named to the 34-member Google Cloud Academic All-America® Division I women's soccer teams to sport a perfect 4.0 GPA.

Currently pursuing her master's degree in sport management, Nason earned her bachelor's degree this past April. On the pitch, the Second Team All-Mid-American Conference selection led Eastern Michigan in goals with a career-high eight goals, while also tacking on a career-best five assists. Her team-leading 21 points were also tied for seventh-most in the league. Nason finished the season slotted tied for fourth in shots on goal, tied for sixth in goals, and eighth in shots.

The 2018 Google Cloud Academic All-District® Women's Soccer Team, selected by CoSIDA, recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. The Google Cloud Academic All-America® program separately recognizes soccer honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.?
