A late scoring outburst by junior guard Shayna Harmon(Ashville, Ohio) and redshirt senior guard Megan Sefcik (Austintown, Ohio) powered the Akron Zips to a 67-58 win over visiting St. Bonaventure in the sixth-annual Education Day game at Akron inside James A. Rhodes Arena. Akron improved to 5-1 on the season with the victory over the Bonnies. The win marks the second-best start through six games in Akron program history. The 2014-15 and 1974-75 Zips each started the season off 6-0. The Zips also improve to 5-1 when hosting its annual Education Day.

Eastern Michigan 60, Detroit Mercy 53 // Box Score
For the second time in as many seasons, the Eastern Michigan University women's basketball team used a fourth-quarter rally to defeat the University of Detroit Mercy Wednesday, Dec. 5, inside the Convocation Center. Trailing by six to begin the final frame, the Eagles (4-2) outscored the Titans (2-6) by a 23-10 margin in the fourth quarter to secure a 60-53 victory over their intrastate counterparts. In addition to matching a career-high with 11 points on 5-of-6 shooting, redshirt senior Lorraine Enabulele (Ajax, Ontario, Canada-Notre Dame (Kansas)) set a personal-best with 17 rebounds for her first collegiate double-double. Her 17 boards mark the sixth-most in a single game in Convocation Center history, and the most by an Eagle since Phillis Webb also grabbed 17 against Air Force, Dec. 21, 2016.

Miami 78, Cincinnati 65 // Box Score
The Miami University women's basketball team (6-1) beat Cincinnati (5-5) by a 78-65 margin on Wednesday. Lauren Dickerson had a season-high 22 points while Nia Clark and Savannah Kluesner also scored in double digits with 16 and 14 points, respectively. The RedHawks shot 54 percent from the floor. The RedHawks held the Bearcats off the scoreboard for the first two minutes of play with stout defense before Cincinnati cut Miami's lead to 4-2. Dickerson made a couple of buckets before Kluesner came up with a block to keep Miami's momentum.

Behind a career-high 31 points from sophomore guard Cece Hooks (Dayton, Ohio), the Ohio women's basketball team (7-0) remained undefeated after an 80-73 win over Big Ten Conference foe Purdue (6-3) this evening at the Convocation Center. "It feels great," said Hooks of putting together a career performance in the victory. "I'm really happy because my teammates kept me in it. They told me not to put my head down, and I just listened to them and kept playing."

Toledo 65, Cleveland State 60 // Box Score
Toledo clawed and scratched its way to a 65-60 triumph at Cleveland State on Wednesday in the Wolstein Center. The victory is the Rockets' fourth straight and improves their record to 6-2. "Our upperclassmen stepped up, especially in the second half," Toledo Head Coach Tricia Cullop said. "Kaayla (McIntyre), Mariella (Santucci), Mikaela (Boyd) and Sarah (St-Fort) really provided a spark for us after halftime. I thought we played much better over the course of the final 20 minutes. Any road win is a good win."
