Male Scholar Athlete of the Week: November 26th – December 2nd, 2018

Miami's Iago Moussalem, Swimming & Diving (Junior, 3.43, Sports Leadership and Management)
Junior swimmer Iago Moussalem made history more than once last week as the RedHawks won the Miami Invitational. Moussalem broke the 19-year-old school record in the 100 fly twice in the same day, once in prelims and another time in the finals. He also broke the school record in the 200 fly, completing the event in just 1:45.26. Moussalem totaled five wins during the invitational, adding wins in the 500 free, 400 medley relay and 200 medley relay to his fly sweep. He did not finish slower than second place the entire week as he tacked on two runner-up finishes in relays.



Female Scholar Athlete of the Week: November 26th – December 2nd, 2018

Buffalo's Nicole Roitenberg, Swimming and Diving (Sophomore, 4.000, Exploratory)
Sophomore Nicole Roitenberg broke three school records this past weekend at the Zippy Invite, including two in individual events. She joined Anna Vitolins, Andrea Ernst, and Katelyn Burns broke the school record in the 400-yard medley with a time of 3:41.17. Individually, Roitenberg would see another program record fall on Saturday afternoon as she collected a third place finish in the 100 backstroke event with a time of 53.97, surpassing the former best time of 54.19 set by Julia Box in 2017. On Sunday, Roitenberg would shatter a third school record on the Weekend, as she re-broke the program-best time in the 200 yard backstroke she set in 2017, claiming third place in the race with a time of 1.56.68.
