The Mid-American Conference had two student-athletes named to the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) All-Region teams, announced Tuesday; BGSU's Kallie Seimet and EMU's Alyssa LaFace.

For the second consecutive season, Bowling Green's Kallie Seimet earned All-Northeast Region honors.

The libero ends her final season as a Falcon Volleyball student-athlete with an extensive list of team and individual honors. In 2018, Seimet earned a second MAC Regular Season title, and she was the first player in Mid-American Conference history to be named back-to-back MAC Player of the Year and MAC Defensive Player of the Year. Seimet was also MAC East Defensive Player of the Week in five occasions throughout the regular season.

The senior was named to the All-MAC First Team, and the Academic All-MAC Team.

In non-conference, the native of Oregon, Ohio was MVP in the BGSU Invitational Tournament and featured in the Duquesne Tournament All-Tournament Team.

Eastern Michigan's Alyssa LaFace earned honorable mention accolades in the Midwest Region.

The award provides a perfect bookend to the Allen Park, Mich. native's career, which began in 2015 as a walk-on. LaFace finished her senior season with a 5.75 digs per set mark, good for seventh in the NCAA, and put up 725 total digs in the season, the second-best single-season total in EMU history. The libero earned All-MAC First Team and MAC All-Tournament team for her efforts in 2018.

"I'm incredibly proud of Alyssa and all of her accomplishments, but this one is extra special," said head coach Kimi Olson. "She took ownership of the libero position and became one of the best our program has ever had. She embraced the process and helped bring EMU volleyball to a new level."

For her career, LaFace finished with 1,673 digs, placing her fifth in Eastern laurels. She is also at the top of the single-game match records, having set the record for digs in a four-set match with 37 against Harvard, Sept. 1.

Eastern Michigan won its first ever Mid-American Conference Tournament championship in 2018, securing a berth in its first ever NCAA Tournament.
