Mid-American Conference

CLEVELAND, Ohio - The Mid-American Conference announced Tuesday the 2018 Volleyball Academic All-MAC Team. A total of 84 student-athletes were named to this year’s squad.
 
Akron, Ball State, and Toledo each placed nine student-athletes to the 2018 team. Bowling Green and Miami followed close behind with eight honorees, while Ohio tailed with seven accolades.
 
Akron’s Kayla Gwozdz leads the conference with a 3.994 GPA. The Temperance, Michigan native is a senior in UA’s social work program.
 
The Academic All-MAC honor is for a student-athlete who has excelled in athletics and academics. To qualify, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.20 cumulative GPA and have participated in at least 50 percent of the contests for that particular sport.
