Akron 64, UTEP 58 // Box Score
The Akron women's basketball team dug deep and gritted out a 64-57 win over the University of Texas-El Paso in game two of the of the 2018 South Point Holiday Hoops Classic on Friday evening inside the South Point Arena. The Zips improved to 8-2 on the season and won its third straight game for the second time this season. Additionally, the win signified the program's 500thwin in Akron history. UTEP fell to 3-9 on the year.

Ball State 90, Tennessee State 51 // Box Score
The Tennessee State women's basketball team ventured into Worthen Arena for its final non-conference game having played a challenging schedule loaded with power conference opponents. The Lady Tigers had taken their lumps, as evidenced by their winless record. But few teams (actually only one) dismantled them as badly as Ball State did in Friday's lopsided, 90-51 affair.

Bowling Green 79, Valparaiso 72 // Box Score
The Bowling Green State University women's basketball team closed out the pre-holiday schedule with a 79-72 win at Valparaiso University on Friday evening (Dec. 21). The non-conference game was held at the Athletics-Recreation Center. Junior Andrea Cecil and freshman Morgan McMillen each scored 20 points for the Falcons (6-4). McMillen's point total included a key three-pointer in the final minute of play, and senior Sydney Lambert's 14 points included two late free throws to help seal the win.

Buffalo 55, No. 8 Stanford 62 // Box Score
A great effort from the University at Buffalo women's basketball program came up just short, as the Bulls fell to the No. 8 ranked team in the nation Stanford, 62-55, despite a 21 point scoring effort from senior captain Cierra Dillard. The Bulls fall to 7-3 on the season while Stanford improves to 9-1. Dillard led the Bulls with 21 points on Friday afternoon, a feat she has managed to complete in every game for the Bulls this season. The versatile scorer still leads the nation in scoring with 25.3 points per game, and has eclipsed the 20 point threshold in every contest this season.

Eastern Michigan 63, Butler 73 // Box Score
The Eastern Michigan University women's basketball team's comeback effort came up short in its final game of the West Palm Invitational Friday, Dec. 21, at Rubin Arena on the campus of Palm Beach Atlantic University. EMU (6-4) trimmed a 23-point Butler University lead to 10 late in the fourth quarter, but ran out of time and fell, 73-63. Redshirt senior Danielle Minott (Miami, Fla.-Miami Country Day (Syracuse)) scored a team-high 21 points, including five three-pointers, while redshirt sophomore Corrione Cardwell (Cleveland, Ohio-New Tech East) also finished in double figures, chipping in 13 points on 4-of-8 shooting.

Kent State 57, NJIT 40 // Box Score
Kent State earned its third consecutive victory, 57-40, Friday afternoon at NJIT to conclude a four-game road swing. The Golden Flashes (6-4) turned up the defensive pressure to force 33 turnovers and hold the Highlanders to just 13-for-46 (28.3 percent) shooting.

Northern Illinois 114, Chicago State 52 // Box Score
The Northern Illinois University women's basketball tied the NIU Convocation Center single-game scoring record Friday night with 114 points in a 114-52 win over the Chicago State Cougars. It was the Huskies' third consecutive win and kept their record perfect on the home floor. "We came out with great energy right from the tip," said head coach Lisa Carlsen, who saw her Huskies go to 5-0 on the year at the NIU Convocation Center.

Toledo 77, Detroit Mercy 60 // Box Score
Toledo toppled Detroit Mercy today, defeating the Titans 77-60 before 3,274 fans in Savage Arena. Senior Mikaela Boyd paced scoring for UT, sinking 15 points to tie her season-high record (Notre Dame, Dec. 8). She was followed by senior Kaayla McIntyre (13) and sophomore Nakiah Black (12). Toledo hit its stride a minute into the contest and quickly jumped to a 19-7 point lead by the five minute mark of the first quarter. Thanks to a strong combined effort from junior Mariella Santucci and Boyd, the Rockets ended the first quarter ahead 26-14 and would continue on to a victory that never saw UT trailing UDM.

Western Michigan 69, Florida A&M 50 // Box Score
The Western Michigan women's basketball team closed out its Florida trip with a 69-50 victory over Florida A&M on Friday, Dec. 21 during day two of the Stetson Hatter Classic. A second-half surge and collective scoring effort guided the Broncos to victory after a one-point deficit at the half. Down 27-26 at the intermission, WMU outscored FAMU 43-23 in the second half, leading to the win.
