The Akron women's basketball team used a strong second half and a suffocating defense to pull away with the contest for a 63-54 win over visiting Eastern Kentucky in a non-conference contest Saturday afternoon at James A. Rhodes Arena. Redshirt senior guard Megan Sefcik (Austintown, Ohio) had a game-high 26 points for the Zips and junior forward Haliegh Reinoehl (Westfield, Ind.) added 12 points and grabbed nine rebounds in the win.

Buffalo 82, Central Connecticut State 69 // Box Score
The University at Buffalo women's basketball team won its third straight game away from Alumni Arena on Saturday afternoon with an 82-69 win at Central Connecticut State. The win improved the Bulls to 5-1 on the season. "Well thank goodness Brittany (Morrison) played well, she just really understood from the beginning that these kind of games can be trap games," said head coach Felisha Legette-Jack.

Eastern Michigan 66, Illinois 72 (OT) // Box Score
The Eastern Michigan University women's basketball team pushed the game into overtime but could not knock off the University of Illinois Saturday afternoon, Dec. 1, at the State Farm Center. Eastern Michigan battled back from an 11-point third-quarter deficit, but ultimately came up short in overtime, 72-66. Minott scored 25 points in the second-half, including a pair of free throws with 6.4 second remaining in regulation to send the game into overtime, but Eastern could not complete the comeback. Illinois hit 7-of-10 free throws in the extra period, to outlast EMU down the stretch.

Miami 65, UIC 56 // Box Score
The Miami University women's basketball team (5-1) beat the University of Illinois-Chicago (1-5) by a 65-56 margin on Saturday. Leah Purvis and Baleigh Reid each had season highs in points, scoring 18 and six, respectively. Kendall McCoy tied her season high with 16 points. Lauren Dickerson tied her career high with nine assists. Leah Purvis put the RedHawks on the board with a pair of free throws before the Flames took an early 4-2 lead. Purvis sunk two in-a-row from behind the arc to give Miami an 8-4 lead midway through the first quarter.

The Northern Illinois University women's basketball team made a late run against the Montana Lady Griz Saturday at Dahlberg Arena, but could not overcome a cold shooting day from the three-point arc in an 86-70 loss at the Lady Griz Classic. The Huskies shot a season-low 14.3 percent from long distance Saturday, making just four out of 27 attempts. Courtney Woods (Brisbane, Australia/St. Margaret's) led NIU with 18 points, all of which came in the second half.

Toledo 58, Memphis 48 // Box Score
Toledo extended its winning streak to three-consecutive games with a 58-48 victory at Memphis on Saturday in the Elma Roane Fieldhouse. With the triumph, UT improves to 5-2 on the season. Senior Mikaela Boyd paced the Rockets with a contest-tying best 15 points, to go along with two boards, four helpers and a season-high four thefts. Boyd was clutch in the fourth period, tallying seven points to help the Midnight Blue & Gold post its third-straight road win.
