Eastern Michigan 69, Cleveland State 63 // Box Score
A balanced all-around effort led the Eastern Michigan University women's basketball team to a season-opening win over Cleveland State University Friday afternoon, Nov. 9, inside the Convocation Center. EMU (1-0) trailed by as many as 12, but a trio of double-digit performances and gritty defense led the Eagles to the 69-63 win over the Vikings (1-1). Sophomore Courtnie Lewis (Belton, Mo. – Belton) led the Eagles with 20 points, after shooting an 8-of-11 from the floor, highlighted by a 4-of-5 effort beyond the arc.

Kent State 60, North Carolina 73 // Box Score
Kent State held a late lead in Friday's 73-60 season-opening loss at North Carolina. The Golden Flashes were outscored 23-8 over the final 4:52 of the game. Redshirt junior Megan Carter led Kent State with 17 points and four assists. Senior Alexa Golden and freshmen Asiah Dingle and Hannah Young added nine points apiece.

Miami 62, Canisius 59 // Box Score
The Miami University women's basketball team (1-0) overcame a 19-point deficit to beat Canisius by a 62-59 margin in the 2018-19 season opener on Friday. Senior Kendall McCoy led the 'Hawks scoring with 16 points with Lauren Dickerson (11), Kristen Levering (11) and Savannah Kluesner (10) also hitting double digits. McCoy hit her first three shots of the game as the teams were tied after two and a half minutes of play at seven points apiece. After these shots, Canisius went on a 6-0 run before Miami could answer.
