Miami Field Hockey To Face Off Against Duke
DURHAM, N.C. – The Miami University field hockey team (16-6, 6-0 MAC) will play No. 3 Duke in the first round of the NCAA Tournament on Friday at noon.
The RedHawks shut out No. 22 Boston University on Wednesday in the opening round of the NCAA Tournament by a 2-0 margin. Miami's goals were scored by Mariona Herasand Morgan Sturm, while Paula Portugal and Estel Roig picked up assists.

ABOUT DUKE: The Blue Devils finished the regular season with a 15-5 overall record and a 5-1 record in conference games. In the ACC Championship, Duke beat No. 17 Syracuse by a 4-1 margin before falling to No. 20 Wake Forest by a 3-4 margin in the semifinals. Senior forwards Rose Tynan and Caroline Andretta lead the Blue Devils' offensive attack with 14 goals each and a combined 68 points. Red-shirt junior goalkeeper Sammi Steele plays most of the minutes in the cage and has recorded five solo and two shared shutouts this season.
SERIES WITH DUKE: The Blue Devils own all four wins in the all-time series with the RedHawks. In 2017, the two teams met during the regular season and then again during the first round of the NCAA Tournament in Durham. Duke won by a 4-2 margin in the first round of the NCAA Tournament last season. Miami goals were scored by Lexi Silver and Henni Otten.
