The University of Akron men's and women's cross country teams were directed by a pair of career-best performances from redshirt juniors Mackenzie Andrews (Toowoomba, Australia) and Tevin Brown(Toledo, Ohio) as the Zips concluded their 2018 campaign at the NCAA Great Lakes Regional hosted by Indiana State University at the LaVern Gibson Championship Cross Country Course on Friday, Nov. 9. Andrews led the Zips' women's efforts turning in a team-best time of 21:40.16 to place 50th, while Brown registered his third top finish of the season Akron registering a time of 32:07.65 to place 49th. Collectively, the Zips placed 14th in the men's race 10K, while the Akron women's squad finished 17th in the 6K.

Ball State // Great Lakes Regional
Sophomore Emmalyne Tarsa turned in a 6K time of 23:18.2 to lead a trio of Ball State cross country runners to the finish line Friday morning at the 2018 NCAA Great Lakes Regional hosted by Indiana State. Running on the LaVern Gibson Championship Cross Country Course in Terre Haute for the first time in her collegiate career, Tarsa placed 158th out of the 225 competitors in her first regional competition.

Bowling Green // Great Lakes Regional
Men's Results | Women's Results
The Bowling Green State University men and women's cross country programs fought through the elements once again to conclude their 2018 season, competing in the Great Lakes Regionals held in Terre Haute, Ind. In the end, the Falcons had two runners who earned All-Region honors and both teams registered top 15 finishes, improving from last season. As a team, the Falcons secured a 15th place finish, improving from their finish in 17th last year. As for the men's team, they followed the women's event, starting at 12:15 p.m. BGSU was able to once again improve their team finish (19th) from last year, coming in 10th this year. In addition, of the seven participating Falcons, six recorded new personal bests.

Buffalo // Northeast Regional
Playing host to the NCAA Northeast Regional Cross Country Championships on Friday in a snowy afternoon at the Audubon golf course, the University at Buffalo men's cross country team took home a top-ten place finish while placing two athletes on the USTFCCCA All-Northeast Regional team. The UB men claimed 7th place out of a field of 34 teams with 245 points Friday afternoon in the 10k event, placing just ahead of Columbia and Stony Brook. The Bulls were led by none other than first team All-MAC runner Caleb Covell. Covell, a two-time MAC Runner of The Week selection, crossed the line in 20th with a time of 33:3.4. Right on his heels, crossing the line in 21st, was junior William Hilbert, the second team All-MAC selection, with a time of 33:36.8. Both upperclassmen were awarded with USTFCCCA All-Northeast Regional honors as they finished in the top 25 out of a very competitive field of 241 runners.

Central Michigan // Great Lakes Regional
Megan O'Neil and Luke Anderson led the way for the Central Michigan cross country teams at the NCAA Great Lakes Regional race on Friday. The Chippewa men finished in 13th place out of 29 teams. Among the teams that CMU finished ahead of were Ohio State along with Mid-American Conference Eastern Michigan and Akron. The Chippewa women's team finished in 16th place out of 32 teams, placing ahead of the likes of Akron and Ohio.

Eastern Michigan Men // Great Lakes Regional
The Eastern Michigan University finished 16th at the NCAA Great Lakes Regional Championship Friday, Nov. 9 in Terre Haute, Ind. The Eagles ended with a team score of 455 points. Junior Austin Wicker (Pinckney, Mich.-Pinckney) paced EMU with a 50th-place finish, clocking in at 32:08. Fresh off of winning MAC Freshman of the Year, Andy Payne (Worthington, Ohio-Thomas Worthington) was the second Eagle to cross the finish line, crossing in 32:40. Freshmen Baldvin Magnusson (Hull, England-Hull University) and Eddie Zuercher (Rocky River, Ohio-Rocky River), as well as sophomore Solomon Costa(Gahanna, Ohio-Gahanna) rounded out Eastern's top-five finishers, as the three placed 96th, 100th, and 128th, respectively.

Eastern Michigan Women // Great Lakes Regional
The Eastern Michigan University women's cross country team finished sixth at the NCAA Great Lakes Regional Championship Friday, Nov. 9, in Terre Haute, Ind. The Eagles finished with two harriers in the top-15, while the team posted a collective score of 231 points. Senior Sydney Meyers (Zionsville, Ind.-Zionsville Community) continued her impressive 2018 campaign, leading the Eagles with a 10th-place finish in 20:47. That finish is 24 places higher than where she concluded last year's meet (34th), while also warranting all-region honors for the second time in her career.?

Men's Results | Women's Results
Three student-athletes represented the Kent State cross country teams at the 2018 NCAA Great Lakes Regional Championship on Friday. Clark Bookman and Alex Stamper represented the men in the 10K race. Bookman finished in 83rd place with a time of 32:41.2, improving on his regional time from a year ago by 40 seconds. Stamper finished in 106th place at 33:04.2. Leah Lisle competed in the women's 6K race and finished in 127th place. She ran her second fastest 6K time of the season at 22:51.2.

Men's Results | Women's Results
The Miami University cross country team ran in its final meet of the year Friday at the NCAA Great Lakes Regional, hosted by Indiana State. The women's squad took 11th out of the 32 teams competing in the women's 6K race. The men's team, recently crowned Mid-American Conference champions, took ninth in the men's 10K. The RedHawk men ran a tight pack that saw all seven runners finish in the top 100.

Northern Illinois // Midwest Regional
Sophomore Ashley Tutt (Channahon, Ill./Minooka) paced the Northern Illinois University cross country team with a 14th place finish as the Huskies competed at the NCAA Division I Midwest Regional at Newman Golf Course on Friday morning. Tutt earned all-region honors for the second consecutive year as she helped lead NIU to a 15th place finish in the 34-team field. Tutt's 14th place finish is the third-best regional performance in school history for the Huskies. Hope Schmelzle finished third at the 2016 regional while Kelsey Hildreth posted an 11th place finish in 2014.

Ohio // Great Lakes Regional
The Ohio men's and women's cross country teams return home after competing in the NCAA Regional Meet. The Bobcat women finished twenty fourth as a team in the 6K with a final score of 652 points. The fastest time was clocked in by senior Alyssa Atkinson with a time of 21:52.2 placing 56th overall. The men finished twenty fourth as a team in the 10K race with a final score of 598 points. The men were led by red shirt sophomore Griffin Butler with a time of 32:30.

Toledo // Great Lakes Regional
The Toledo women's cross country team took ninth place at the NCAA Regional meet in Terre Haute, Ind. on Friday. Wisconsin's Alicia Monson won the individual title (20:13.4) while Michigan won the team title with 46 points.Junior Athena Welsh paced the Rockets, stopping the clock at 20:55.2 to take 17th overall. Welsh's top-20 finish helped secure the team's ninth-place finish with 297 points.

Western Michigan // Great Lakes Regional
The Western Michigan cross country team concluded its 2018 season at the NCAA Great Lakes Regional Championships on Friday, Nov. 9, scoring 450 points to place 14th of 32 teams, the best WMU finish since 2015. "Overall as a team I am really proud of the ladies' performance," said associate head coach Taryn Sheehan. "The team really improved from where we finished at this meet the past two years. The Great Lakes region is one of the toughest regions in the country; with not just great athletes but really impressive teams."
