Akron
A year ago, in the women's 6K race, Mackenzie Andrews led the Zips' efforts turning in a team-best time of 22:11 to place 83rd, while Hess followed closely behind Andrews registering a time of 22:20 to finish 91st. Collectively, the Zips placed 13th in the men's race 10K, while the Akron women's squad finished 22nd in the 6K. In 2017 in his final cross country race as a collegian, Garrett Crichlow was first across the line for the Zips' men's squad in a time of 32:08 to finish 50th.

Ball State
Three members of the Ball State cross country team will return to the action Friday morning at 11:15 a.m. when they compete in the 2018 NCAA Great Lakes Regional held in Terre Haute, Indiana. Representing the Cardinals in the women's 6K race at the LaVern Gibson Championship Cross Country Course will be juniors Meliza Rodriguez and Lauren Whitehouse, as well as sophomore Emmalyne Tarsa.

Bowling Green
Following the MAC Championships, BGSU will enter the regional level with confidence. As a team, the men's program captured a second place finish in Toledo, while Noah Schaub and Tyler Phillips led the way individually, coming in second and third respectively. On the women's side, Rachel Walny ran away with a third place individual finish at the event. The men's program will enter the event after moving up in the Great Lakes Region rankings. After their second place finish at the MAC Championships, the men's team moved into the No. 12 spot in the region.

Central Michigan
Last year, the CMU women's team finished 18th in the 31-team field. Megan O'Neil led the Chippewas with a 48th-place finish in the 223-runner field. She finished in 21:31. The Chippewa men last year placed 16th in a 26-team field. Luke Anderson led the Chippewas with a 59th-place finish (32:16) in a 187-runner field.

Eastern Michigan Men
Last year's event saw the Eagles place fourth with a team score of 113 points. Hlynur Andresson led the team with a second-place finish, crossing the line six seconds after the top finisher in 31:00. This year, the team will be without Andresson, but will have junior captain Austin Wicker, who is the only Eagle on the current roster to have competed in this race last season. At the MAC Championship race, Wicker led the team with a 19th-place finish with a time of 25:14.4. Freshman Andy Payne also had an impressive race, concluding with a time of 25:15.8 to take 20th and receive MAC Freshman of the Year honors.

Eastern Michigan Women
Cizmas and Meyers have led the Green and White in every race they have competed in this season, including the conference championships, where Cizmas captured the individual crown with a final time of 20:34.89. Cizmas became the sixth Eagle to capture the individual title, which ties Eastern for the second-most individual champions in the conference. Right behind Cizmas was Meyers, who also captured First Team All-MAC honors with a fourth-place finish, crossing in 20:44.85. Following Meyers was junior Emily Smith, who placed 13th with a time of 21:32.3 and earned Second Team All-MAC honors. Sophomore Madison Distelrath finished with a personal best of 21:40.3 and crossed the finish line in 18th. Rounding out Eastern's scoring harriers was sophomore Ashleigh Simonis, who completed the meet in 22:24.1, placing 40th.

Kent State
Junior Clark Bookman, freshman Alex Stamper and freshman Leah Lisle will represent the Flashes and compete as individuals in the race. The women's 6K will begin at 11:15 a.m., followed by the men's 10K at 12:15 p.m.?

Miami
The RedHawks will enter the regionals coming off a successful appearance at the MAC Championship. The Miami men took home the overall team championship, as juniors Christopher and Sean Torpy landed All-MAC First Team honors and Ryan Pitner, Matt Bromley, and David Coffey grabbed places on the Second-Team. Redshirt senior Alesha Vovk was named First-Team on the women's side as the RedHawks finished third as a team, and head coach Tom Chorny garnered a Coach of the Year nod.

The Ohio men's and women's cross country teams take off for Terre Haute, Indiana to compete in the NCAA Regional meet Friday (Nov.9). The women's 6K championship race will feature 34 teams, and 305 individual competitors. The men's 10K race will feature 30 teams and 267 individual competitors. ?

Toledo
The Rockets last competed in the Mid-American Conference Championships on Oct. 27, where junior Athena Welsh took runner-up (20:37.9) in a close finish against Eastern Michigan's Natalie Cizmas (20:34.9). Sophomore Michelle Hostettler took 16th (21:38.8) with freshman Claire Steigerwaldfollowing to take 19th (21:43.4). On the men's side the Midnight Blue & Gold placed ninth at the MAC Meet with Dismas Koech setting the pace and placing 46th (25:56.6).

Western Michigan
The Broncos are coming off of the 2018 Mid-American Conference Championship race on Oct. 27 at the University of Toledo. WMU finish scored 136 points to place fifth of 12 teams while placing three runners on All-MAC teams for the first time since 1986. Sarah Anderson, Maria McDaniel, and Juliane Sormain all finished within the top-14 to earn All-MAC honors. Anderson crossed the finish line at 20:48.4 to finish in fifth place and earn All-MAC First Team recognition with a personal best 6k time.

Buffalo
The UB women are led by senior Lauren Reyda who has been the Bulls top finisher in three races this season including a third place finish at the Canisius Alumni Invite and a ninth place finish at the Paul Short Invite. For Buffalo, who is currently ranked 14th in the Northeast, it will be redshirt-junior Caleb Covell who will look to spearhead the Bulls' efforts on Friday. Covell, who has crossed the line in first for team in every event this season, is coming off of a fourth place finish at the MAC championships that earned him first team All-MAC honors.
