BIMINI, Bahamas -- Shawn Roundtree hit the go-ahead runner with 2.9 seconds left to help Central Michigan overcome a 13-point deficit and beat San Jose State 76-74 in the Junkanoo Jam on Sunday.
Kevin McKay had 24 points, 12 rebounds and four steals, and Roundtree scored four of his 16 points in the final 16 seconds.
Roundtree's pair of free throws gave the Chippewas (3-1) a 74-73 lead with 16 seconds left. Brae Ivey split a pair of free throws to tie it for the Spartans (1-3) with eight seconds left.
San Jose State went on a 15-0 run to lead 63-50 on Isaiah Nichols' 3-pointer with 9:36 left in the game. Central Michigan outscored the Spartans 26-11 from there with Roundtree scoring nine during that span.
Larry Austin added 15 points for Central Michigan, which lost on a buzzer beater to Weber State the night before.
Michael Steadman and Craig Lecesne had 13 points each, and Ivey added 12 for San Jose State.

CHARLESTON, S.C. -- Tayler Persons scored 10 of his 29 points in overtime and Ball State held on to defeat Appalachian State 94-86 in the seventh-place game at the Charleston Classic on Sunday.
The Cardinals (2-3) held an 11-point lead with 2:43 left before the Mountaineers (1-4) rallied with a 17-6 run to tie things at 80 on Ronshad Shabazz's layup and to force overtime.
After that, it was all Ball State. Persons fueled an 11-0 start to the extra period as the Cardinals took control.
Shabazz finished with a career-high 37 points for Appalachian State.
Kent State 79, Alcorn State 48

KENT, Ohio -- C.J. Williamson and Antonio Williams scored 17 points apiece and Kent State used a big first-half run to beat Alcorn State 79-48 on Sunday.
Philip Whittington added 12 points with nine rebounds and Jalen Avery scored 10 for the Golden Flashes (3-1), who never trailed and shot 49 percent to the Braves' 38 percent.
Avery hit two 3s in Kent State's 13-2 run to open the second half and the Golden Flashes cruised. Williams lost his right shoe on one play but hit a 3 anyway for a 61-35 lead with 9:30 to play.
Whittington's layup sparked a 20-0 Kent State run while the Braves went scoreless for more than seven minutes and the Golden Flashes led 41-24 at halftime.
Jael Scott scored 11 points, Deshaw Andrews 10 and Maurice Howardnine for the Braves (1-3), who turned it over 22 times.
Pepperdine 86, Miami 80

NASSAU, Bahamas -- Colbey Ross scored 25 points and Pepperdine rallied from an 18-point deficit in the second half and beat Miami (Ohio) 86-80 in the Islands of the Bahamas Showcase on Sunday.
The Redhawks led 46-33 at halftime and extended the margin to 60-42 with 16:12 remaining on a 3-pointer by Nike Sibande. A little more than three minutes later, Eric Cooper Jr., freshman Kessler Edwardsand Darnell Dunn buried 3s in succession, Ross added a layup and Pepperdine (3-2) reduced the deficit to 65-58.
Cooper made a 3-point play with 4:06 left and Pepperdine led 74-73. Mekhi Lairy made a 3-pointer as Miami (2-3) took its last lead at 80-78 and never scored again. Edwards promptly responded with a 3 with 1:44 left and a 1-point lead.
Dunn scored 18 points, Cooper 17 and Edwards 14.
Sibande scored 17 to lead Miami. Dalonte Brown added 16 points, Lairy 15 and Darrian Ringo 13 for Miami.
Loyola 65, Ohio 56

MONTEGO BAY, Jamaica -- James Batemon scored 16, Jeffery McClendon added 15, making all three of his 3-point attempts, and Loyola Marymount never trailed in a 65-56 win over Ohio in the Jamaica Classic on Sunday night.
The Lions (5-0) pulled away in the middle of the second half, going on a 17-4 run to turn a 32-all tie into a 13-point lead with 8:12 left. Loyola Marymount had its largest lead at 56-42 with 2:37 left.
The Bobcats (2-2) rallied, cutting the deficit to 61-56 on Teyvion Kirk's layup in the final minute. But Batemon answered with a layup and two free throws to close out the win for Loyola Marymount.
Mattias Markusson added 12 points, Cameron Allen scored 10 and Dameane Douglas had 10 rebounds to go with four points for the Lions.
Jason Carter had 18 points, Kirk scored 11 and Ben Vander Plas 10 for the Bobcats.
