MAC Men’s Swimmer of the Week
Nick Ward, Miami
Junior, Westerville, Ohio
 
Junior Nick Ward won two individual events and swam a leg on two winning relay teams against Cincinnati on Saturday. He exceled in sprint free – winning both the 50 free (21.12) and the 100 free (46.01). Ward was part of the winning 200 medley relay team (1:31.45) and 400 free relay team (3:04.38). Overall, he contributed to earning 40 points for the RedHawk squad. 
 
MAC Women’s Co-Swimmer of the Week
Casey Gavigan, Eastern Michigan 
Junior, East Setauket, N.Y. (Ward Melville)
 
Eastern Michigan junior Casey Gavigan was a key piece of the Eagles swimming and diving team that moved to 4-0 for just the seventh time in history with a win over Oakland, 190-110, Saturday, Nov. 10. Gavigan swept the Backstroke events for the third meet this season, and has earned the top finish in every event she has entered this year. Her 100 Back finish against the Grizzlies had her tapping in at 55.12, the third-fastest time for the event in the Mid-American Conference this season. Her finish in the 200 Backstroke of 2:00.02 also ranked in the MAC top-5, tapping in with the fourth-fastest time in the conference during the 2018-19 season.
 
Daisy Platts, Bowling Green
Freshman, Leicester, UK
 
Daisy Platts competed in eight events (4 relay, 4 ind.) over the weekend, and finished in first in every event. Platts helped contribute 44 points in relay races, and 36 points from individual events to the Falcons' weekend point tally of 401 points throughout both meets. Bowling Green remains undefeated after seven competitive meets.

She has not lost an individual event (6) against MAC competition in two meets this season. October 6 vs Miami she has three (3) individual event wins and also vs Eastern Michigan last week she had three (3) individual event wins.
 
Izzy Herb, Miami        
Junior, St. Charles, Ill. (St. Charles East)                   
 
Junior Izzy Herb swept the backstroke competition in addition to being on strong relay teams. Herb beat the runner up in the 100 back by over one second (55.95) while beating the field of competition in the 200 back by 1.7 seconds (2:00.84). She swam a leg on the winning 200 medley relay team (1:44.95) and the second-place 400 free relay team (3:29.60).
