MAC Men's Soccer Player of the Week
Lachlan McLean, SIUE
Forward, Junior, Sydney, Australia

Lachlan McLean opened the week with a game-winning goal in the 88th minute Tuesday to give SIUE a 2-1 win at IUPUI. McLean then scored a pair of goals in SIUE's MAC-season opening overtime win against Northern Illinois. After falling behind 2-0 in the first half, McLean scored in the final minutes of the first half to bring the Cougars within a goal at halftime. He scored five minutes into the second half to tie the score and SIUE eventually scored the game-winner in the second overtime period. McLean finished the week with a team-high nine total shots and four shots on goal.
Other Nominess

Anthony Mwembia, Bowling Green
Goalkeeper, Junior, Toulouse, France

Bowling Green junior goalkeeper Anthony Mwembia recorded a shutout in the Falcons’ lone match of the week, a scoreless draw with Akron in the MAC opener. Mwembia made a career-high 10 saves and broke up a number of other crosses and scoring chances in shutting out the Zips. Mwembia made seven of his 10 saves in regulation, and had three stops during the second 10-minute overtime period. Making Mwembia’s performance more impressive was the fact that the match was the fact that the match was delayed for an hour late in the first half due to a thunderstorm, so the final 72-plus minutes of his shutout came in conditions where the field – as well as the ball – was wet and muddy. The clean sheet was Mwembia’s second of the season and the 17th of his BGSU career.
