The Bowling Green State University volleyball program defeated the Kent State Golden Flashes in three sets to improve to an overall record of 10-8, and 4-1 in the Mid-American Conference. The Falcons have swept opponents in five different occasions this season.

Eastern Michigan 3, Northern Illinois 0 // Box Score
The Eastern Michigan University volleyball team opened up its four-game homestand with a quick sweep of Northern Illinois University Friday night, Oct. 5, at the Convocation Center. With the win, EMU (12-7) moved to 4-1 in Mid-American Conference play, its best start since 2010. Eastern Michigan cruised past Northern Illinois (5-15, 3-2 MAC), winning 25-17, 25-16, and 25-17 en route to the Eagles' third straight win over the Huskies. EMU hit an astounding .350 compared NIU's .043 clip, while also outdoing Northern in digs (50-30) and kills (52-21).

Miami 3, Ohio 2 // Box Score
With lots of long rallies and back-and-forth sets, the Miami University volleyball team battled with Ohio in a five-set classic Friday evening, and it was the RedHawks coming away with a 3-2 (25-22, 21-25, 25-19, 18-25, 15-9) victory. Miami improves to 12-5 overall and 4-1 in the Mid-American Conference. The Bobcats fall to 8-10 overall and 3-2 in the MAC. Freshmen outside hitters Gaby Harper and Sophie Riemersma had the best matches of their young careers in leading the 'Hawks to the victory. Harper had a double-double with a career-high 22 kills to go along with 14 digs. The 22 kills was the most for any Miami athlete this season and the most since Paige Hill had 24 against Kent State on Sept. 25, 2015. Riemersma recorded a career-high 15 kills and just missed a double-double with nine digs.

Western Michigan 3, Central Michigan 0 // Box Score
Western Michigan volleyball earned its fifth sweep of the season on Friday night defeating conference rival Central Michigan in three sets (25-19, 31-29, 25-22). The Broncos have now won six straight sets against the Chippewas and improve their overall record to 9-3 against CMU since 2013. WMU won its second straight match and now has an overall record of 12-7 and 2-3 in Mid-American Conference play.
