WVU senior Joey Piatczyc scored two game-winning goals and added an assist last week in a pair of big matches, leading West Virginia to a 2-1, Backyard Brawl win over rival Pitt on Oct. 23, and a 3-2 win over Bowling Green on Oct. 26 to clinch the Mid-American Conference regular-season title. Against Pitt, Piatczyc assisted on WVU's first goal and scored the game-winner in the 49th minute. Three days later, he broke a 2-2 tie with a goal in the 88th minute to propel the Mountaineers to their first-ever MAC title. On the season, Piatczyc's five game-winning goals ties a school record, leads the MAC and ranks No. 8 nationally, while his 20 career game-winning points are sixth-most in WVU history.

Akron sophomore David Egbo connected on what proved to be the game-winning goal in a 1-0 victory at SIU Edwardsville on Oct. 27. The tally, Egbo's team- and conference-leading ninth goal of the season, came in the 64th minute (63:47), and gave the Zips a key road victory. The goal was assisted by junior Marcel Zajac. On the campaign, Egbo leads Akron in goals (9), points (21), shots (38), shots on goal (14) and game-winners (4).
Cameron Sipple, Western Michigan

WMU senior captain Cam Sipple scored the game-winning goal during Saturday's 2-1 Bronco victory over Northern Illinois. During senior day at WMU Soccer Complex, Sipple scored his team-leading fifth goal of the season on a penalty kick to lead the Brown & Gold to their first conference win of the year.
